Working as a performer since he was a child, he was a superstar as a teenager for the films in which he played Andy Hardy, and he has had one of the longest careers of any actor, to date spanning 90 years actively making films in ten decades, from 1920s to 2010s. For a younger generation of fans, he gained international fame for his leading role as Henry Dailey in The Family Channel's The Adventures of the Black Stallion, as well as the film itself.

Also in the cast are Oscar and Tony Award nominee Amy Ryan (Gone Baby Gone, "The Office," On the Mountain at PH) and Emmy Award nominee David Schwimmer ("Friends," "Band of Brothers," PH debut). Directed by Obie Award winner Anne Kauffman (Maple and Vine at PH, The Thugs, Stunning, Naked Angels' This Wide Night), previews will begin Friday, August 24 at Playwrights Horizons' Mainstage Theater as the first production of the theater company's new season.
