Walter McBride As a 14 year old youth, Walter was transfixed by his first Broadway Show, the original production of 'GREASE'. His Journey to celebrity photojournalism began that fateful night. Meeting, photographing and getting to know the cast inspired him to spend his professional life doing what he loved. Currently headlining in New Jersey with his partner Richard and family members Dali (Jack Russell) & Gala (Schnoodle). Recently he made his Broadway debut sharing the stage with Hugh Jackman in 'Hugh Jackman on Broadway' as well as receiving the Actors' Equity Association Gypsy Spirit Award. On National Coming Out Day, Thursday, October 11th at 10:30am, this unparalleled coalition will host an event at The Snapple Theater Center (210 West 50th Street, 3rd floor). Hosted by the producers of BARE, speakers will include former NHL star Sean Avery on behalf of Athlete Ally; activist Fiona Dawson on behalf of HRC; Executive Director Brent Childers & LGBT and women's rights advocate Roberta Sklar on behalf of Faith in America and James Clementi & Executive Director Steven Guy on behalf of the Tyler Clementi Foundation, as well as BARE director Stafford Arima and choreographer Travis Wall. They will share their personal experiences, speak about their individual organizations and their collaboration with BARE, and together share the message of equality for all. This special event will also include a performance from BARE.

Today, we're featuring Adrian Zmed circa 1988. His first major acting gig was the role Danny Zuko, in the national touring company production of Grease. He later appeared in the Broadway stage musical three times, twice in the role of Zuko. In the original Broadway production of Grease, he starred with Jeff Conaway, who played Kenickie in the 1978 motion picture Grease. Zmed returned to stage work in the 1990s, headlining the musical Children of Eden at the Paper Mill Playhouse, and starred in three shows on Broadway: Falsettos, Blood Brothers, and Grease.

The event featured the "throwing out of the first lines" of Shakespeare by city officials and artists with ties to The Public, followed by a special performance from the cast of Hair, which had its world premiere at The Public when it opened in 1967.

Earlier today, the Public Theater celebrated the completion of the $40 million revitalization of its downtown home at Astor Place with a special rededication ceremony. The event featured the "throwing out of the first lines" of Shakespeare by city officials and artists with ties to The Public, followed by a special performance from the cast of Hair, which had its world premiere at The Public when it opened in 1967. A physical expression of the Company's core mission of sparking dialogues, fostering artistic development and experimentation and increasing public accessibility, the revitalization project opened up the landmark building to the street and community, and transformed the lobby into a public piazza for artists, students and audiences.
