Photo Coverage: PIPPIN's Andrea Martin Unveils Caricature at Sardi's!August 30, 2013As BroadwayWorld announced earlier this week, two-time Tony Award winner Andrea Martin will depart PIPPIN following the Sunday, September 22nd performance to lead the cast of the new Global TV series 'Working the Engels,' which will film in Toronto. A replacement for the role of 'Berthe' in PIPPIN will be announced soon. The show is currently playing at the Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street).

Up on the Marquee: MAMMA MIA! at the Broadhurst!August 26, 2013As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Mamma Mia!, the global smash hit musical based on the songs of ABBA, will transfer from the Winter Garden Theatre to the Broadhurst Theatre this fall. The show will play its final performance at the Winter Garden on October 19, with performances beginning at the Broadhurst on November 2. While the show continues to play at the Winter Garden, the marquee just went up at the Broadhurst for the coming transfer. Check it out below!

Photo Blast From The Past: Glenn CloseAugust 21, 2013Today, we're featuring Glenn Close circa 1995. Close made her professional theater and Broadway debut in Love for Love. Her other early stage credits include The Crucifer of Blood and The Singular Life of Albert Nobbs, for which she won an Obie Award. Close's first Tony Award nomination came for her role in the musical Barnum, and she subsequently won Tony Awards for her performances in The Real Thing and Death and the Maiden. For her portrayal of Norma Desmond in Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical Sunset Boulevard, Close won a Tony Award, a Drama Desk Award, a Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award and a Dramalogue Award.
FREEZE FRAME: Blast From The Past: Laurie BeechmanAugust 18, 2013Today's edition features the late Laurie Beechman with her Theatre World Award in 1982. Beechman made her Broadway debut in the original cast of ANNIE, and later starred as 'The Narrator' in the original cast of JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT, scoring a Tony nod for her work. She also starred in PIRATES OF PENZANCE, CATS, LES MISERABLES, CARRIE, and more. After a long battle with ovarion cancer, Beechman died in 1988 at the age of 44.
