Producers Fran Kirmser and Tony Ponturo will present Bronx Bombers, a new American play written and directed by Eric Simonson, on Broadway starting January 10, 2014 at Circle in the Square Theater (235 West 50th Street). Bernadette Peters, Norm Lewis, Jeremy Jordan and Cyrille Aimee star in Stephen Sondheim and Wynton Marsalis's new musical event featuring Sondheim's music arranged and performed by the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis. This Encores! Special Event, directed by frequent Sondheim collaborator John Doyle, with choreography by Parker Esse and musical supervision by David Loud, was conceived by Peter Gethers, Jack Vierteland John Doyle, and will run for seven performances, now through November 17 at City Center. Gearing up for the 2013 holiday season, Coast 2 Coast Star Entertainment presents Shea: Prince of Christmas, a unique music celebration about the joys of the Holidays starring Shea Arender aka 'Shea.' The show makes its world premiere off-Broadway at St. Lukes Theatre (308 West 46th Street) and opened last night, November 14th. The show will play a limited run through December 27th, 2013. It was adapted for the stage by Tony Award-winning team James Lapine, who wrote the book, and William Finn, who wrote the lyrics and music. Paper Mill Playhouse will continue its 75th Anniversary Season with the classic Charles Dickens musical Oliver!, with a holiday 'twist' for the entire family. With a book, music and lyrics by Lionel Bart, Oliver! will be directed by Paper Mill Playhouse Producing Artistic Director Mark S. Hoebee with original choreography by JoAnn M. Hunter. Oliver! will feature David Garrison (Fagin), best known for his role as Steve Rhoades on the hit television series Married...with Children, Betsy Morgan (Nancy), John Treacy Egan (Mr. Bumble), Jose Llana (Bill Sikes), David Hess (MR. Brownlow), Ethan Haberfield (Artful Dodger) and introducing Tyler Moran as Oliver. Oliver! will also feature 16 local boys from across the state of New Jersey who auditioned from a pool of over 200. Oliver! will play the Millburn, New Jersey theater from November 21 through December 29. The official press opening night is Sunday, December 1, 2013, at 7:00pm. Glamour magazine held its 2013 Women of the Year awards gala last evening at Carnegie Hall in New York City, honoring women across the worlds of entertainment, philanthropy, education, fashion, and politics. The awards ceremony included a star-studded list of presenters, and Seth Meyers opened the show.
