Up On The Marquee

As previously announced, Bring It On: The Musical will open on Broadway on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at The St. James Theatre, direct from a 13-city National Tour, for a 12-week limited engagement through Sunday, October 7, 2012. Previews are set to begin Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 8pm. The first signage of the marquee is up and BroadwayWorld brings you a first look below!

Peter and the Starcatcher, a new play by Tony® Award-nominee Rick Elice (Jersey Boys), directed by Tony® Award-winner Roger Rees (Nicholas Nickleby) and Tony® Award-nominee Alex Timbers (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, The Pee-wee Herman Show), has an official opening night set for Sunday, April 15, 2012 at The Brooks Atkinson Theatre. MAGIC/BIRD, a new play from the team that brought you LOMBARDI on Broadway, will play the Longacre Theater beginning Wednesday, March 21, 2012 in anticipation of an April 11, 2012 opening night. Tickets now on sale to the general public by phone 212-239-6200 or online at www.telecharge.com.

NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT, with music and lyrics by George Gershwin and Ira Gershwin and a book by two-time Tony Award-winner Joe DiPietro (Memphis), will open on Tuesday, April 24 at Broadway's Imperial Theatre (249 West 45th Street). NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT stars two-time Tony Award-winner Matthew Broderick (The Producers, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying) and three-time Tony Award nominee Kelli O'Hara (South Pacific, The Pajama Game) and will be directed and choreographed by three-time Tony Award-winner Kathleen Marshall (Anything Goes, The Pajama Game).

Directed by the Tony® Award winning Terry Johnson, End of the Rainbow will begin performances on Monday, March 19, 2012 at the Belasco Theatre, with an opening night now set for Monday, April 2.

A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE will open April 22, with previews beginning April 3 for the revival at Broadway's Broadhurst Theatre.

The new musical based on the motion picture "Leap of Faith," produced by Paramount Pictures Corporation and written by Janus Cercone, will begin previews on Tuesday, April 3 and will open in late April (date to be announced) at the St. James Theatre (246 West 44th Street).

Gore Vidal's THE BEST MAN begins previews on Tuesday, March 6th, 2012. An official opening is set for Sunday, April 1st, 2012 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre.

The Broadway production of Bruce Norris's CLYBOURNE PARK will open on Thursday, April 19 at the Walter Kerr Theatre. The production is now being produced by Jujamcyn.

Tickets are now on sale for The Stratford Shakespeare Festival's hit production of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR. Directed by the Stratford Shakespeare Festival's Artistic Director Des McAnuff, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR will open March 22, 2012 (previews begin March 1) at the Neil Simon Theatre.
