Meat Puppets Announce Release of 14th Studio LPOctober 7, 2012 The creative resurgence of the Meat Puppets adds another chapter with their just completed 14th studio LP. Yet untitled, it is slated for release on Mega Force in March 2013. This soon-to-be 12 song set helps anoint the band's most productive recording period in 25 years, or since they pulled off the amazing stretch from 1984 to 1989 in which the band released 5 seminal recordings for SST (Meat Puppets II, Up on the Sun, Mirage, Huevos, and Monsters). Since 2007, the Puppets have crafted critically acclaimed full lengths including Rise To Your Knees, Sewn Together, and Lollipop. Curt Kirkwood produced the forthcoming songs at Yellow Dog Studio in Austin Texas and is now working on the art, sequencing and LP title.
TBS Lands on Top on First Day of 2012 MLB PostseasonOctober 7, 2012 TBS's exclusive live doubleheader coverage of Major League Baseball's first-ever Wild Card presented by Budweiser averaged a 3.7 overnight rating, based on Nielsen overnight ratings. The network's telecasts, marking the start of the 2012 MLB Postseason, were up 12 percent compared with an averaged 3.3 overnight rating for the entire Division Series last year. When compared to last year's opening day of the MLB Postseason (Texas vs. Tampa Bay, ALDS Game 1 - 2.3 overnight rating), the Wild Card games are up 61 percent.
