TVGN today announced that it will become the exclusive basic cable home for the #1 daytime drama, THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS (Y&R). The acquisition of the top-rated daytime franchise from Sony Pictures Television marks the first TVGN programming announcement as part of the new CBS Corporation (NYSE: CBS.A and CBS)/Lionsgate (NYSE: LGF) partnership.

Disney Channel has ordered a third season of 'Austin & Ally,' TV's #1 comedy series in Kids 2-11, it was announced today by Adam Bonnett, Senior Vice President, Original Programming, Disney Channels Worldwide. The series stars Ross Lynch, Laura Marano, Raini Rodriguez and Calum Worthy. Production resumes in Los Angeles in July, with Season Three scheduled to premiere in October 2013.

Bravo Media unveiled its largest slate of original programming-to-date with 17 new and 18 returning unscripted series, marking a 15 percent increase over last year, and announced three new scripted projects in development. Additionally, Bravo ranks #9 in the highly desired A18-49 demo and in A25-54, up 5 percent and 7 percent respectively, and up 8 percent in total viewers year-to-date, according to Nielsen.

Animal Planet achieves its best-ever first quarter among major demos in prime, reeling in 316K P25-54, 283K P18-49 and 164K M25-54. In prime & total day, the Planet captured 695K and 447K P2+ viewers, respectively for the quarter. Continuing its streak from 2012, Animal Planet ranks among the top 20 ad supported cable networks based on M25-54 delivery in first quarter (#18).

Following its 4Q12 win, Nickelodeon has kicked off 2013 by topping all basic cable with kids and total viewers for 1Q13. Nickelodeon averaged a 2.9/968,000 with kids 2-11 (+7%) and 1.9 million total viewers (+6%). Nickelodeon's top show for the quarter with kids 2-11 is SpongeBob SquarePants (6.3/2.0 million), which is up +7% over last year. Additionally, Nickelodeon posted gains over 4Q12 with K2-11 (2.8/935,000; +12%) and total viewers (1.8 million; +9%).

Turner Sports and CBS Sports' exclusive coverage of the 2013 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship across TBS, CBS, TNT and truTV is averaging 9,701,000 total viewers to date, which is up 11% from last year's 8,717,000 viewers and is the highest average for the NCAA Tournament through the Sunday Regional Finals in 19 years (9,728,000; 1994). The 2013 NCAA Tournament to date is averaging a national HH rating/share of 6.2/13, which is up 9% from last year's 5.7/12 and is the highest rating to date since the 6.3/14 HH rating/share in 2005.

Don't want to fork out the basic Netflix package of $7.99 a month to check out HOUSE OF CARDS? Amazon is currently taking preorders for the series' DVD release - apparently set for June 11. Sony Entertainment, as Deadline reports, hasn't made the official announcement that the Kevin Spacey-led series would even get a DVD release, but according to Amazon, it obviously is. The online marketplace is now offering the first (and potentially only) season of CARDS for a special pre-order price of $44.99.
