To those who are new to my blog, welcome to the start of my tale in second year of musical theatre in the University of Winchester. For those who have been here, welcome back!
As prepared as I was for my 2nd year, leaping back into action after three long months of the summer has landed me in a spot where I’ve suddenly forgotten the pace of my rhythm.
I thought I knew exactly what it was but after a quick search, it turned out to be more than just maintaining your grades which was what I initially thought it was.
Writing has always been a sort of escape for me and because it proved to be something of use to organize my busy life, I intended to take full advantage of it. You’d be surprised by how many hobbies can become useful tools in your day-to-day life as a student.
I have always been an academic and an athletic kind of person but when I was first met with having to balance these two components in my course, and maintaining my personal life, it was like a circus.
A triple threat course is obviously not an easy feat but with all that I have learnt in my first year, I would not give anything else up for the world. In addition to the triple threat, you would expect a musical theatre course to focus mostly on the practical aspects which are singing, dancing and acting, but lucky for me, the university equips us with the theory aspect of it as well which was the reason I picked this university to begin with.
I will be honest; I've never had a summer break before because we don't have any seasons in Malaysia. It has always been the constant heat with long schooling semesters since I was in primary school and at least a week to a month's break in between terms.
