Student Blogger: Megan Frigerio

In the fall of my sophomore year, I was cast as a swing in JMU STAD's production of 'Sunday in the Park with George'. While covering three tracks sounds daunting, here's how Megan's experience went. Spoiler alert, it was phenomenal!

In high school, academic integrity was at the forefront of my school's philosophy. At JMU and the School of Theatre and Dance, the expectations are the same. Here's how Megan keeps her academic integrity strong during times of stress.

The JMU Studio Theatre has been making student produced, directed, and written work for a while now. Two students who are very closely involved with the theatre are Jamie and Stella. I decided to interview them on what the Studio Theatre is and how it supports students in the JMU School of Theatre and Dance.

Burnout is never great but developing coping skills early on in a safe educational setting can help you as you advance in your theatrical career. I know it has for me!

Traveling to new places with exciting opportunities and experiences has always been a joy of mine. Being able to do it now with JMU through their Semester in Scotland study abroad program with a few of my theatre peers has been nothing but a blast. Here are some things I've learned and seen on my journey so far.

Life as a theatre student in college is very rewarding but, it's not without its fair share of challenges. From having to still take regular school courses, finding time to practice and audition, and just taking time for yourself, here are some of my own tips on managing a hectic schedule.

As I mentioned in my introduction post, I am not a native to the Harrisonburg area. My hometown is Miami, Florida which is the complete opposite in every imaginable way. Here are a few of the challenges I’ve come across in my two years as a person who studies in Virginia full-time but lives in Florida.
