Every person who has done theater can relate to the feeling of having to say "I'm sorry, I'm busy, I have rehearsal!" or "I can't, I have a show." While musical theater can have extreme demands on your time in your life before college, once you are pursuing it as a major it can feel like that is all your life is, especially if you attend a conservatory or a conservatory style program.

When making the decision to major in musical theatre (or any artistic area) in college, the range of responses from friends, family, and even people you may not know very well can range in terms of support.

Hi Broadway World! Following up last week's post about college auditions, this week I wanted to share about college itself. Musical theater programs abound in the U.S. and I obviously cannot speak for any program but the one I am currently in, but most schools have at least the same basic structure in terms of what is taught. Today, I'll be sharing the details of life at a musical theater freshman at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee in Boston, MA!
