Burnout is a funny thing because it can quickly take something you once had so much love for and change it into a chore. For me, burnout comes from anticipating an outcome, or goal, and forgetting to enjoy the process.

I intended to challenge myself by putting myself in a demanding and new situation. I believe I was really able to enjoy it because I was there for the experience and not totally riding on trying to get the job. However, I still showed up prepared and was ready for anything that they threw at me, and 'come what may' was my mentality.

Whenever life feels overwhelming, I find it best just to take five minutes and just sit.  My stress usually comes from inflating the importance or duration of different tasks to the point I feel completely out of control.  However, taking just five minutes to sit and remember how grateful I am to have the opportunity to be busy with things I love pursuing.

As the hosts of 'Peppers', MTR does the opening number. Our chosen performance was our adaptation of 'Apex Predator' from Mean Girls which was brilliantly titled 'Apeps Predator' and the lyrics were changed to match the peppery theme of the night. We ate the peppers about one minute into the song and when I tell you it was like a SLAP in the face which only got worse the more you breathed.

Once a theatre kid always a theatre kid, right?  Absolutely.  This was something I truly realized when I got to college and something I took somewhat for granted in high school.  I started my first year at the University of Southern California as a mathematics major pursuing a pre-medicine track.  I thought this was fulfilling until I began to acknowledge the part of me that missed theatre and the artistic dimension of myself.  It took me one semester to change my major to political science and two to declare a minor in musical theater.  Finally, I feel I have found my niche.
