Every year theatre lovers of all ages and walks of life patiently await the Tony Awards. If other events and awards can have fun watch parties, why not theatre? I have come up with various ways to ensure you and your friends can have an “award-winning” party.

So, you successfully landed a part in your first show; congrats! Now that the stress of song singing, monologue reading, and waiting for the auditions is over—what comes next?

A good way to describe method acting is “reality acting.” When going into a role an actor or actress will usually start thinking how their character would think, how they would move, and all their motives.

“The theatre is a place where one has time for the problems of people to whom one would show the door if they came to one’s office for a job” (Tennessee Williams).

Local director Nancy Eppert has been in the world of directing for 30 years, and I had the great pleasure of asking her a few questions about her craft.

Things have gotten pretty busy in my world recently. In the past month I’ve had midterms for school, tough classes, and on top of those things and homework, I also have a job that takes up time and effort as well. All these tasks can seem overwhelming without using the proper tools.

I had the opportunity to be an assistant stage manager for a community theater’s production of Miracle on South Division Street. Stage management was something that had interested me for a while as a job in the world of theater. Stage managers really make shows happen, and I was honored to take part in a production as a valued asset.

The musical Hamilton has captured the hearts of thousands worldwide, and I must admit it's captured mine as well.

Back to school! Could there be a phrase more exciting and scary? Some students can hardly wait to get back into their various classes and resume learning. For other students like myself, going back to school means more stress, less leisure time, and of course homework.
