Oil Lamp Theater’s production of the musical comedy First Date, with a book by Austin Winsberg and music and lyrics by Alan Zachary and Michael Weiner, is now extended through October 27.

Hub Theatre Company of Boston will close its critically acclaimed 11th season with Molière’s celebrated comedy Tartuffe, directed by Elliot Norton Award winner Bryn Boice. The show will run Saturday, November 9, through Sunday, November 24, 2024, with performances on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 pm, and on Sundays at 2:00 pm at The Boston Center for the Arts Plaza Theatre.

In conjunction with its production of Agatha Christie’s recently discovered “new” work, “The Stranger,” Peninsula Players Theatre will host Agatha Christie scholar Dr. Christopher Chan on Friday, October 11, at 5:30 p.m. in the theater.

The Doris Duke Foundation has announced the 20 pioneering artists, technologists, and arts organizations that will receive grants through the inaugural Performing Arts Technologies Lab, a first-of-its-kind accelerator for projects seeking to explore innovative uses of digital technology in the performing arts.

The Public Theater has announced two additional new musicals that will be part of The Public’s Spring 2025 and Fall 2025 seasons at their landmark Astor Place home on 425 Lafayette Street. The new musicals include GODDESS and THE SEAT OF OUR PANTS.

Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre will present the Pittsburgh premiere of Trey McIntyre’s Peter Pan. PBT will perform the family-friendly ballet October 25-27 at the Benedum Center as the opening production of its 2024-25 Emerald season.
