After nearly 20 months of a dark theatre, performances are finally back to the Fisher Theatre with the 25th Anniversary Farewell Tour of the 1996 Broadway musical Rent. Whether you're a newcomer to the show or a longtime fan, you can catch Rent for yourself until this Sunday, October 24th.

Until November 17th, you can witness the pure artistry that is Les Misérables at Wharton Center. Les Misérables made its English-language debut in 1985's West End production. It soon made its way to Broadway in 1987, where it claimed eight Tony Awards including Best Musical. To say it's a worldwide phenomenon is an understatement.

Until October 27th, Wayne State will be showcasing their sold-out production of Heathers: The Musical at the 110-seat theatre, Underground at the Hilberry. Based on the 1988 movie, Heathers: The Musical has music, lyrics, and a book by Laurence O'Keefe and Kevin Murphy.

'Journey On' with Stagecrafters' current production of Ragtime, playing at Royal Oak's Baldwin Theatre until October 6th. Since premiering in Toronto in 1996 and opening on Broadway in 1998, Ragtime has received several worldwide productions, becoming an absolute phenomenon.

Only through September 15th can you catch the recent Broadway hit Come From Away at Wharton Center in East Lansing. This poignant yet uplifting tale opened up on Broadway in 2017, and has since launched productions all over the world.

Making its Michigan-debut as the season opener at Wharton Center September 10th through the 15th, Come From Away is about the story of the 38 planes that were diverted to Gander, Newfoundland, on 9/11. BWW Detroit got the opportunity to talk with Marika Aubrey, who is currently playing Beverley, Annette, and others on the Come From Away national tour.

Lights up on Washington Heights! Until July 14th, you can witness Lin-Manuel Miranda's hugely successful musical, In The Heights, at Saugatuck Center for the Arts. In The Heights was a smash hit on Broadway, going on to win such awards as the 2008 Tony Award for Best Musical and more.
