NO BOUNDARIES: A Series of Global Performances, presented by World Performance Project at Yale and Yale Repertory Theatre, concludes its 2009-10 season with MESs, by Yoko Higashino and Toshio Kajiwara, members of the Japanese multimedia performance group Baby-Q, at the Iseman Theatre (1156 Chapel Street) for three performances only: Thursday, March 25; Friday, March 26; and Saturday, March 27, at 8PM.

Shadow puppet master Jim Napolitano of Nappy's Puppets will perform Jack and the Beanstalk at Sandglass Theater in Putney, Saturday, March 13 at 2 and 4pm. This performance is part of the Winter Sunshine Series of family performances, a collaboration between Sandglass Theater, Crabgrass Puppet Theatre and Puppetwork New England.

'VLAD DRACUL', a new play adapted from Bram Stoker's 'Dracula' will have its world premiere March 4th and will run through March 6th at Tallmadge High School.

Victoria Theatre Association has announced the lineup for the fourth season of the Universal 1 Variety Series at the historic Victoria Theatre. The history of the Ivoryton Playhouse is inextricably linked to the career of Katharine Hepburn, who spent the summer of 1931 proving to local audiences that she was leading lady material before heading off to Hollywood and stardom. It seems a fitting choice to open our 99th birthday season with a nod to Ms Hepburn and the role that brought her accolades on stage and screen in Philip Barry's The Philadelphia Story. Barry wrote The Philadelphia Story in 1939 specifically for Ms. Hepburn, who ended up backing the play, and foregoing a salary in return for a percentage of the play's profits. Co-starring with Hepburn on Broadway were Joseph Cotten, Van Heflin and Shirley Booth . The play opened in late March 1939 and ran for a full year with more than 400 performances and a nationwide tour. The play was a great success on Broadway, and the subsequent movie with Carey Grant and James Stewart was Hepburn's first great triumph after several movie flops had led to movie theater owners including her on a list of actors viewed as 'box office poison.' The movie garnered 6 Academy Award nominations and won two.

The first national tour of Legally Blonde The Musical will take the stage April 20-25, 2010 at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center. Sorority star Elle Woods doesn't take no for an answer. So when her boyfriend dumps her for someone more 'serious,' Elle puts down the credit card, hits the books and sets out to go where no Delta Nu has gone before: Harvard Law. Passage Theatre, Trenton's premiere professional theater company, will present its 8th annual Solo Flights Festival March 5 through April 3, featuring one-person plays, music and dance at Trenton's historic Mill Hill Playhouse (205 East Front Street, at the corner of Montgomery Street in historic downtown Trenton).

According to the LA Times, Amanda Seyfried is rumored to be taking on the title roll in 'The Girl With the Red Riding Hood,' an upcoming project from 'Twilight' director Catherine Hardwicke.

ALTAR BOYZ will play at the Dundalk Community Theatre from February 26th through March 7th in Baltimore.

The Jewish Museum will present a new exhibition, Curious George Saves the Day: The Art of Margret and H. A. Rey, from March 14 through August 1, 2010. Curious George, the impish monkey protagonist of many adventures, may never have seen the light of day were it not for the determination and courage of his creators: illustrator H. A. Rey (1898 - 1977) and his wife, author and artist Margret Rey (1906 - 1996). They were both born in Hamburg, Germany, to Jewish families and lived together in Paris from 1936 to 1940. Hours before the Nazis marched into the city in June 1940, the Reys fled on bicycles carrying drawings for their children's stories including one about a mischievous monkey, then named Fifi. Not only did they save their animal characters, but the Reys themselves were saved by their illustrations when authorities found them in their belongings. This may explain why saving the day after a narrow escape became the premise of most of their Curious George stories.

New City Stage Company concludes its 2009-2010 season, From the Other Side, with the Philadelphia revival of John Ford Noonan's A COUPLA WHITE CHICKS SITTING AROUND TALKING for February and March. This poignant and dark drama-comedy is running NOW through March 7, 2010. Performances are at the Second Stage at the Adrienne Theater, 2030 Sansom Street. Tickets cost $18 - $22. Aaron Louis (Producing Director, 3LD Art & Technology Center) in association with New Georges and The Essentials, will present the world premiere of THE DIARY OF A TEENAGE GIRL, written by Marielle Heller, adapted from the hit graphic novel of the same name by Phoebe Gloeckner, and directed by Sarah Cameron Sunde and Rachel Eckerling in a multi-media production. Performances will begin on Sunday, March 15 at 8:00 p.m. at 3LD Art & Technology Center, 80 Greenwich Street (just south of Rector Street). The official opening night will be Sunday, March 28 at 8:00 p.m. (Performances will run through Monday, April 12.)
