THE CORNELIA STREET CAFE has announced an exciting schedule of events for the month of October full of diverse musical styles for all kinds of musical tastes!

Itzhak Perlman and Joshua Bell and have joined the Board of Directors of the New York Philharmonic. The internationally known violinists, both of whom have long associations with the Orchestra, were voted onto the Board for an indefinite term at the Board's final meeting of the 2009-10 season. They will serve in an advisory capacity with full voting rights, without a mandatory financial obligation. This is the first time in the Philharmonic's nearly 170-year history that leading guest artists have served on its Board of Directors.

42nd Street Moon proudly presents ONCE IN A MILLION MOONS: A Jerome Kern Salon on October 28 at the Alcazar Theatre. This one-night-only event features Broadway star Rebecca Luker, as the company's multi-year celebration of composer Jerome Kern continues.

'QED,' a play about Richard Feynman, popularizer of science and one of the best-known physicists in the world, will be presented in a theater-in-the-round setting Sept. 23 to Oct. 10 at Northwestern University.

Webster University's Conservatory of Theatre Arts presents 'The Insect Play' by Karel and Joseph Capek. The production runs from Sept. 29-Oct. 3 and Oct. 6-10, in the Emerson Studio Theatre, 130 Edgar Road. Curtain time is 7:30 p.m., except Sundays, which presents 2 p.m. matinees only. THE PEARL THEATRE COMPANY (J.R. Sullivan, Artistic Director; Shira Beckerman, Managing Director) announces Lee Stark as the newest member of the Resident Acting Company. The 12th member of the ensemble, Stark will be featured in The Pearl's upcoming production of THE SNEEZE, Michael Frayn's adaptation of Chekhov's short stories and plays which begins performances this week.

Jeff Davis is known as the 'propulsive force' behind a host New York mainstays, including bassist Michael Bates, multireedist Oscar Noriega, pianists Jesse Stacken and Landon Knoblock. On his debut album, We Sleep Outside, Jeff Davis showcases his command of a deeply focused and distinctly improvisational style.

Everyman Theatre opens up their 20th Anniversary season with their magical, fantastical, production of Shipwrecked! An Entertainment. The Amazing Adventures of Louis De Rougemont (As Told By Himself). From the brilliant mind of Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Donald Margulies comes this rip-roaring tale of high-seas adventures, complete with giant sea turtles, flying wombats, a man eating octopus and Queen Victoria herself. Shipwrecked! runs September 24 through October 24, offering performances Wednesday through Sunday.

The New York Musical Theatre Festival and Center Stage Theatre are please to announce BEAUTYFULL, an original musical written by Jill Jaysen with music and lyrics by Mark Shepard as part of the 2010 Festival.
