Indie-pop band Sky-Pony, led by married couple Lauren Worsham (Tony-nominated actress for Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder) and Kyle Jarrow (Tony-nominated writer for SpongeBob SquarePants the Musical) is returning to Mercury Lounge on March 14th for their very first show in four years with opener LAKES.

The beloved concert series STANDARD TIME WITH MICHAEL FEINSTEIN continued on February 28th at Carnegie Hall’s intimate Zankel Hall stage. The intimate cabaret space at 54 Below was transformed into Berlin’s Grand Hotel on Monday night. The kick-off performance of GRAND HOTEL: THE 35TH ANNIVERSARY ORIGINAL BROADWAY CAST REUNION CONCERT on February 26th was exuberant, with much of the star-studded original cast reviving their roles.

The Carpenters reigned the pop charts in the 1970s with hits like “Rainy Days & Mondays” and “(They Long to Be) Close to You.” THE CARPENTER PROJECT will feature hits and some hidden gems by the group, stories about friendship and love of the Carpenters. The inimitable jazz singer Catherine Russell is back at Birdland February 13th to 17th, with two more shows tonight and tomorrow at 8:30 and 10:30 pm, where she'll be playing Valentine’s Celebration, Love Songs and more, an annual tradition. Lianne Marie Dobbs is bringing a new show celebrating neurodiversity by way of some Dusty Springfield tunes to the Green Room 42. THE WINDMILLS OF MY MIND... FOR DUSTY SPRINGFIELD plays on Saturday February 17th at 9:30 pm at the Green Room 42. I spoke to Dobbs about the upcoming show and the way she's embraced her ADHD.

On Friday February 9, 2024, the New York Pops paid tribute to Gershwin’s music on the occasion of the near 100-year anniversary of “Rhapsody in Blue” (it officially hits 100 today, on February 12). Guest vocalist Montego Glover and the 78-piece New York Pops orchestra were a delight to watch.
