The annual Primary Stages November Night to Remember Gala, a fundraiser benefiting the extensive artistic development programs offered by the company, was just held at the Edison Ballroom, last night, November 9, 2011. Each year at their annual Gala, Primary Stages honors an individual or group who has made significant contributions to the American theater. This year's gala honored the writers, lyricists, and composers who have won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. The Honorary Committee of Pulitzer Prize Winners includes Edward Albee, David Auburn, Michael Cristofer, Nilo Cruz, Charles Fuller, Frank Gilroy, Sheldon Harnick, Beth Henley, Tom Kitt, James Lapine, Tracy Letts, David Lindsay-Abaire, Donald Margulies, Marsha Norman, Bruce Norris, Lynn Nottage, Robert Schenkkan, Stephen Sondheim, Alfred Uhry, Paula Vogel, Doug Wright, and Brian Yorkey.

Philippine Development Foundation ('PhilDev') just presented PhilDev Celebrates Broadway: Suites by Sondheim, on Monday night, November 7 at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center in New York City. Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron's hit Off Broadway show, Love, Loss, and What I Wore, welcomed its newest cast, including comedian and journalist Jenny Allen (I Got Sick Then I Got Better), Broadway actress Maddie Corman (Next Fall), TV and stage veteran Eve Plumb ('The Brady Bunch'), and TV newcomer Amanda Setton ('Gossip Girl,' 'One Life to Live') on Thursday, November 3. In honor of its 8th Anniversary on Broadway, the blockbuster musical Wicked treated its fans to a special 'Ultimate Encore' performance yesterday, October 30th. New York City Center has just reopened following a historic renovation and modernization with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and star-studded gala last night, October 25 at New York City Center. The Tony Award-winning AVENUE Q celebrated its second anniversary at New World Stages (340 W. 50 St.) in Manhattan on October 21, 2011. After a triumphant, six-year run on Broadway, AVENUE Q moved to New World Stages, opening there on October 21 and continuing to play to large houses filled with enthusiastic audiences eight times a week. On the occasion of its second anniversary, AVENUE Q will play its 835th performance at New World Stages.

Signature Theatre Company announced yesterday seven productions for its inaugural 2012 season at Signature Center, the company's new Frank Gehry-designed permanent home opening in February 2012. Signature Center will allow the Company to expand its programming, introduce new initiatives, and build audiences. Featuring three intimate theatres, a Studio Theatre, rehearsal studio and a shared lobby with café and bookstore, Signature Center will be both a theatre community hub and a neighborhood destination.
