The Philanthropist, by Christopher Hampton, is directed by David Grindley at the American Airlines Theatre (227 West 42nd Street). The cast also includes Tate Ellington, Jennifer Mudge andSamantha Soule.

Alan Ayckbourn's comedy trilogy, The Norman Conquests, celebrated Opening Night on Thursday, April 23 at Circle in the Square Theatre (235 West 50th Street between Broadway and Eighth Avenue). BroadwayWorld.com's cameras were there to capture the opening of special theatrical event.

Outer Critics Circle, the organization of writers and commentators covering New York theater for out-of-town newspapers, national publications and other media beyond Broadway, announced today (April 20, 2009) its nominees for the 2008-09 season in 23 categories. Sony Masterworks announced the upcoming release of the New Broadway Cast Recording of West Side Story. The recording will be available nationwide on June 2, 2009. The official opening of West Side Story, which took place at the Palace Theatre in New York City on Thursday, March 19, 2009, has been greeted with great critical acclaim and sold-out performances. The opening followed a pre-Broadway engagement at the National Theatre in Washington, D.C., where the musical made its original world premiere in 1957. The Mod Musical, Four Guys Named Jose, Stormy Weather, Langston Hughes's Little Ham, From My Hometown, Lone Star Love, and Wanda's World, among others.

The Fire Dept Artistic Directors Erica Gould and Audrey Rosenberg presented The Minotaur, the first installment of the company's 2009 Salon Series, the cast for the performance included Mario Cantone, Jill Clayburgh, Phoebe Neidhardt, Ethan Peck, Campbell Scott, and Jeremy Webb. The Minotaur, written by Anna Ziegler; directed by Erica Gould; and produced by Audrey Rosenberg, took place Friday, March 27 at 7:30pm at the historic Players Club, 16 Gramercy Park South at 20th Street.
