HIGHLIGHTS OF THE WEEK: ONCE scores big at the Tonys, ROCK OF AGES hits the big screen, HARVEY returns to Broadway, and so much more!

Just yesterday it was announced that the Barbra Streisand Women's Heart Center in Cedars-Sinai's Heart Institute will be named for the famed entertainer in recognition of her philanthropic commitment and it will be directed by C. Noel Bairey Merz, MD, a cardiologist and nationally respected expert on women's cardiovascular disease. The video below showcases why Streisand has taken on the cause of heart disease in women. The Old Globe will open its 2012-13 Winter Season with the World Premiere of Allegiance - A New American Musical. Created by Jay Kuo and Lorenzo Thione with music and lyrics by Kuo, the original musical tells the story of a Japanese American family forced into an internment camp during World War II. Directed by Stafford Arima (Carrie, Altar Boyz, West End premiere of Ragtime), the production features musical direction and arrangements by Lynne Shankel (Cry-Baby, Company). Tony Award-winning actress Lea Salonga (Miss Saigon, Les Miserables), television and film icon George Takei ("Star Trek," "Heroes") and Telly Leung (Godspell, Rent) will star. The production has just announced that Allegiance will also feature costumes by Alejo Vietti, choreography by Andrew Palermo, and projections by Darrell Maloney.

The stars came out to see two-time Tony Award-winner Patti LuPone perform at the opening week of 54 BELOW. Visitors included LuPone's Evita co-star Mandy Patinkin; from 'The View,' Joy Behar; from '30 Rock,' Jane Krakowski; Motown legend Darlene Love; playwright Douglas Carter Beane; Tony Award winning-director Jerry Zaks; Broadway composer/lyricist Andrew Lippa; nightclub performer Natalie Douglas and more. According to Showbiz411, the music from Meatloaf's 'Bat Out of Hell' album, written by Jim Steinman, is being worked into a stage show. Originally written for a Peter Pan musical that never happened, the songs will be featured 'as a meditation on Captain Hook and friends.' Though it was originally aiming for a West End run, the show is now eying Broadway.

On today's episode of THE VIEW, host Whoopi Goldberg asked Catherine Zeta-Jones if she would like to return to Broadway, to which she replied 'I'd love to.' The Tony-winning star then revealed that she is at work with director Steven Soderbergh on a 'idea of a rock opera based on CLEOPATRA', that was originally intended as a rock and roll musical movie, that's now being thought of as 'perfect' for Broadway.

A storybook night of your favorite fairy tales is on tap as more than 200 of New York's sexiest dancers bring BROADWAY BARES XXII: HAPPY ENDINGS to life for two performances (9:30 PM and midnight) this Sunday, June 17. BROADWAY BARES XXII: HAPPY ENDINGS, which is produced by and benefits Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, will be held at Roseland Ballroom (239 West 52nd Street, NYC).

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Ghost The Musical will be closing at the Piccadilly Theatre to make way for Viva Forever, the Spice Girls musical. Now according to Whatsonstage, the show will take its final bow on October 6.

The Broadway production of Nicky Silver's comedy THE LYONS will end its run at the Cort Theatre (138 W. 48 St.) following the Sunday, July 1st performance, after having played 80 performances and 21 previews. Directed by Mark Brokaw, THE LYONS began previews April 5 and had its official opening night April 23 with a cast starring Tony winners Linda Lavin and Dick Latessa.

Producers Julian Schlossberg and Letty Aronson have just announced that five time Tony Award® winner Susan Stroman will direct and choreograph the world premiere production of BULLETS OVER BROADWAY, the new musical adaptation of Woody Allen's and Douglas McGrath's screenplay of the 1994 crime-comedy film when it arrives home on Broadway in the 2013 - 2014 season.

Producers Bob Boyett and The National Theatre of Great Britain launch the first U.S. tour of the 2011 Tony® Award-winning Best Play and international sensation, War Horse, tomorrow, Thursday, June 14 at Los Angeles's Ahmanson Theatre. The national tour will bring the hit play to 30 U.S. cities during the 2012-2013 season. The winner of five 2011 Tony® Awards, War Horse has been seen by over 2 million people worldwide and is currently playing at New York's Lincoln Center Theater, in London's West End, and at Toronto's Princess of Wales Theatre.
