One can tell when someone is playing music mechanically and simply reading notes on a page or if what you are hearing is something greater than that; as if something divine is coming through the performer's soul. With guitarist Sean Harkness, it most certainly is the later. Although quite an accomplished professional composer, arranger and guitarist, Sean's playing has an additional element; the a?oeIta?? factor that is so hard to describe, but you know it when you see or hear it.

Stacy Sullivan is well known in the Cabaret Community for being the very epitome of warmth and friendship. She always greets her friends and fans with a big smile, a hug and a a?oeHow are you?a?? Unfailingly classy, well dressed and always stunning, Stacy creates very interesting cabaret shows that tend to focus on one artists - a?oeIt's A Good Day, A Tribute To Miss Peggy Leea??, a?oeOn The Air - Songs For Marian McPartlanda?? and one that I was luckily in attendance for on opening night, a?oeA Night at the Troubadour: Presenting Elton John and David Acklesa??.  

We all know him, whether it be shining on stage interpreting one of the tongue-in- cheek American Standards that he's known for, buzzing around Don't Tell Mama's making sure everything is going smoothly with the multiple shows he booked that day, or simply floating into a cabaret club to support an artist he enjoys. HE is the kind and encouraging man that has launched many a career and has given young artists a shot to perform, long before their names were in lights on the great white way. Who is this legendary New York City fixture? Why, none other than Sidney Myer (of course)!

'Let's go on with the show'! And what a show it's been thanks to the host with the most, Mr. Jim Caruso!

She is a singer, actress, host, comedienne and shines on whatever stage she's on, and she's been on some amazing stages - Royal Albert Hall, London Palladium, Carnegie Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center to name a few. Who is the SHE you ask? None other then the force of nature, one of the foremost performers of our time, Ms. Klea Blackhurst, of course!

You may know T. Oliver Reid as an in demand Broadway performer, TV actor, MAC Winning Cabaret singer, a MetroStar Challenge winner and a Professor at NYU.  He is an artist that wears his heart on his sleeve in all that he does on stage or screen.  

Included in the questions for this column, I ask each performer to send an inspirational quote that they love. Being a TONY Award nominated actress, this quote speaks volumes about this week's artist, Christiane Noll.

Jeff Harnar is chock-full of the guy-next-door magnetism of the bygone era of Hollywood's Golden age of male stars.  He is someone that the audience knows they can trust, is easy to enjoy with just a hint of mischievousness to keep things interesting.  He is the modern day equivalent to film stars Van Johnson or Gene Kelly.  

It was the evening of Wednesday, November 10,1993, and the Minskoff Theatre was packed with VIP guests, producers and theater royalty waiting for the opening night to begin. Four bars of music played while the curtain opened and the spotlights glowed on someone making their Broadway Debut as the Narrator in the show. She beautifully began with the lyrics, a?oeSome folks dream of the wonders they'll do, before their time on this planet is througha??. The singer was the unforgettable Kelli Rabke and the show was the revival of JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT.

EXUBERANCE, a noun meaning the quality of being full of energy, excitement, and cheerfulness. If you've seen Mark Nadler on stage, you know he is the quintessential living and breathing definition of this word.
