Conversations with Creators: How Kyle Marshall Sees the Dancing Body as HistoryAugust 26, 2024“As a choreographer, I understand the fragility and power of physical gatherings,” says Kyle Marshall, founder and artistic director of Kyle Marshall Choreography (KMC). “It is how our medium exists.” Marshall is a choreographer, performer, and teacher who sees the dancing body as a container of history, an igniter of social reform and a site of celebration. Kyle is a former member of the Trisha Brown Dance Company, Doug Elkins Choreography etc., and Tiffany Mills Company. Kyle received a 2018 NY Dance and Performance Juried Bessie Award, a 2020 Dance Magazine Harkness Promise Award and a 2020 Bessie Honoree for his revival of Colored (2017). He has also received choreographic fellowships from Princeton University, Center for Ballet and the Arts, and residencies from Monira Foundation, 92nd st Y, CPR, and Bethany Arts Community.
Conversations with Creators: Hector Lopez Talks Heels, Career, and IndustryAugust 18, 2024“Trusting my gut is something I've always done,” says Hector Lopez. “Once I knew I wanted to dance, I knew that I was going to, and my mind was not going to let me stop.” Lopez is a native Bronxite and New York-based dancer, teacher, and choreographer. Since graduating from Dartmouth College with a degree in Theater Studies in 2012, Lopez has worked as a professional dancer under the choreographic direction of Bryan Tanaka, Yanis Marshall, Kyle Hanagami, Dani Vitale, Ashle Dawson, Luam Keflezgy, Ramon Baynes, and Yvonne Marie-Sain. His credits to date include artists such as Mariah Carey, Khalid, Halsey, Prince Royce, Pabllo Vittar, and Todrick Hall as well as industrial work with Hemes, Samsung, Adidas, and Moncler. He has also appeared as himself on TV shows including Real Housewives of NY, Owning Manhattan on Netflix, and Dancing Queens on Bravo.

He has created over 15 digital videos that have reached millions of views collectively across Instagram and Youtube. He has worked creatively with Todrick Hall (first AD on ICON), RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 16 contestants Plasma and Sapphira Cristal (Bloody Mary, DROMP, ENOUGH, the CRISTAL BALL), and Omar Jose Cardona (the VOICE Season 22). As a choreographer he has worked for TD Bank, Metropolis Productions, Mary Kay, Hasbro, Toys R US, Macys, Basic Fun! and RWS Global (MSC, Iberostar). Michael started his business Michael McCrary VIBE in 2022. His business creates custom digital content, live events, and stage shows for various artists and brands both nationally and internationally. VIBE also operates a dance education program in Greenville, South Carolina training youth and adult dancers. Michael is a guest faculty member at the world-renowned Broadway Dance Center, NYC.
