Based on actual events, this play is a great insight into Denver history and the debate of immigration that is still a hot topic not only on a state, but a federal level as well.

You could tell that this cast loved their parts and the friendships were there that made it effortless to play off one another for maximum comedy and delight of the audience.

While on the surface this looks like a political drama when you pull back the layers this show is full of intersecting family ties and wonderful interpersonal intrigue.

The Denver Center Theatre Company truly honored this piece and the playwright with their stunning production and top-notch acting.

I had the pleasure of chatting the two of the talented ensemble of SISTER ACT: the Musical on what this show means to them, their experiences on the national tour and even busting a divine move.

I sat down with the phenomenally talented couple, Mike Hartman and Lauren Klein to discuss romance on and off the stage, the impact of theater in their lives, and taking on such iconic and challenging roles!

This production was a curious one - while there were several excellent performances of the evening, the show was almost hindered due to poor technical decisions riddled throughout the show.

These cherished stories (and some forgotten classics) get a new breath of life and a newly found appreciation through a web of comedy, drama, romance and with traces of Cirque de Soleil with a set that is truly something to behold!

I truly appreciate that the Arvada Center gives rebirth and a newly found appreciation to these sometimes forgotten classics and hope that they continue this tradition in the future.

The songs are hilariously campy and the show is bursting with farce, fun and blood!

From the opening number, this show envelopes you in a glittery hug with its energy and will have you dancing in the aisles by the end!

Unfortunately, while the actors sang their hearts out in memorable moments, due to several glaring technical errors, the show never reached its full potential.

The Edge Theatre Company is proud to present John Guare's THE HOUSE OF THE BLUE LEAVES, playing now through August 11th. Artie Shaunessy is a songwriter with visions of glory. Toiling by day as a zookeeper, he suffers in seedy lounges by night, plying his wares at piano bars in Queens, New York, where he lives with his wife Bananas. Artie's downstairs mistress, Bunny Flingus will sleep with him anytime but will refuse to cook for him until they are married. On the day the Pope is making his first visit to the city, Artie's son Ronnie goes AWOL from the Fort Dix, stowing a home-made bomb intended to blow up the Pope in Yankee Stadium. Also arriving is Artie's old school chum, now a successful Hollywood producer, Billy Einhorn with starlet girlfriend in tow, who holds the key to Artie's dreams of getting out of Queens and away from the life he so despises. But like so many dreams, this promise of glory evaporates amid the chaos of ordinary lives.

This classic, big Broadway musical did not disappoint with its big cast, big sets, and bigger voices!

Planet Zolbott had a really good foundation, unfortunately the transformation from page to stage failed to deliver at times.
