Following lead single “The W,” holy shit is AJ Peacox’s most personal release yet. The six-track project was crafted during a long period of isolated touring in the fall and winter of 2021. In response to a breakup and the unexpected passing of a dear friend, each song was poured in a notebook as a method of healing.

The song is expressed throughout a solid rhythmic bed that clicks and clacks in an unrelenting time signature. It features long-term friends and collaborators Jo McCullum (Nadia Reid, The Veils) on drums and percussion, Jo Barus (Dave Dobbyn) on bass, and Tom Healey (Tiny Ruins, Marlon Williams, Nadia Reid) on guitar and production.

The HBO concert special and album features Arthur on piano with guests reggaetón legend Ivy Queen, Mexican power duo Ha*Ash, Colombian singer Catalina García of Monsieur Periné, Costa Rican singer/songwriter Debi Nova and Mexican powerhouse Lupita Infante.
