Tenuously beloved punk and EMMY-nominated Craig of the Creek songwriter Jeff Rosenstock is back with “LIKED U BETTER,” his first new single since 2020’s critically acclaimed NO DREAM (unless you count 2021’s SKA DREAM, his ska re-interpretation of the album, or quarantine collection 2020 DUMP, both of which absolutely ruled).

ICKY takes a closer look at each KARD member's individual musical talents. BM composed “CAKE” and “Been That Boy,” while J.seph contributed to writing the lyrics for the title track “ICKY,” “Been That Boy,” and “CAKE.” Somin and Jiwoo also made their mark on the album, helping with the writing of the lyrics for “CAKE.”

Originally released in April, “People That I Love Leave” was co-written by Cassadee, Ali Tamposi (Miley Cyrus, Jonas Brothers, Kelly Clarkson), Roman Campolo (Elton John, BTS), Nick Long (Machine Gun Kelly, Avril Lavigne) and Andrew Luce (Iann Dior, Role Model) and produced by Cassadee, Dan Swank, Mason Sacks, Hosu Yoon and Luce.

In March, the Dallas, Texas-based multi-instrumentalist and singer Burt Hussell announced his forthcoming, debut album High Desert and since then, has shared “Silver Surfer,” the album's title-track and “Home.” The album was produced by Tim Lefrebvre (David Bowie, The Black Crowes, Tedeschi Trucks Band), who also plays on the album.

Columbo raises its curtain with “The Show Must Go On,” a piano flourish giving way to a clean, snare-less drum pattern and guitar strum that conjures the cozy fireside intimacy of Neil Young’s “Out on the Weekend.” Elsewhere, “Tell Her' is a slice of simmering R&B, while the heart-breaking “Tears in Rain” is dedicated to his late grandmother.

Australian garage rock trio Cable Ties have shared “Thoughts Back,” the latest single from their upcoming album All Her Plans. Featuring drummer Shauna Boyle’s first turn on lead vocals, “Thoughts Back” is a potent expression of the unique frustrations associated with mental illness, especially as it pertains to self-care and caring for others.

Joseph Michael Abiakam (Norfolk State University), Langston Jackson (Hampton University), Kennedi Amari Johnson (Clark Atlanta University), Courtney Roberts (Texas Southern University), and Caleb Wilkerson (Florida A&M University) are the recipients of the 'Your Future Is Now' scholarship.

The lead single “Viral” is a bass-heavy slice of contemporary Rub-a-Dub with a conscious look at social media and its purpose in modern-day society. Despite the allure of virality, Alborosie rejects it for himself, choosing substance over gimmickry. The track is mixed and produced in Albo’s classic vintage style, with heavyweight bass.

CANDIACE first debuted the new single in the latest episode of Real Housewives of Atlanta, in which she brought Drew on stage during a show at the City Winery and performed the song for a packed audience. On the track, guitar weaves through a hypnotic soundscape as CANDIACE’s showstopping vocals transfix.

A limited series adaptation of Leopoldstadt is in the works. Discussions to bring the acclaimed play to the small screen began discreetly before the Writers Guild of America strike began. No deals for the series have been made and it will most likely not land until after the strike is over.

The series documents actual calls and drama while giving a face to the passionate firefighters who risk their lives in the name of service. These real-life heroes and their captivating stories are told alongside the unpredictable dangers they face on the front lines of life and death. Episodes will be available to stream the next day on Peacock.

In celebration of the new release, the band is set to tour the U.S. this fall with stops including New York’s Beacon Theatre, Chicago’s Thalia Hall, Washington, D.C.’s Union Stage and more. Tickets are available for pre-sale via the band and Spotify on May 23 and promoter pre-sales kick off May 24.
