The Delaware Theatre Company presents Noël Coward's BLITHE SPIRIT, March 2-20, 2011.

When the eccentric patriarch Simon Powers departs his physical being and downloads himself into The System, his house assumes his immortal presence around his family and friends... So begins DEATH AND THE POWERS, a groundbreaking new opera created by Tod Machover and his Opera of the Future Group at the MIT Media Lab, which receives its North American premiere at the American Repertory Theater. Performances take place at the Cutler Majestic Theater in Boston on March 18 (press opening), March 20, March 22, and March 25.

Based on the book by Johanna Hurwitz and commissioned for the stage by Hartford Children's Theatre, CLASS CLOWN runs March 11 through March 20, 2011 at HCT's Carriage House Theatre.

The registration deadline for the Scholarship competition sponsored by the Prescott Fine Arts Association is approaching on March 11th for the Drama and Music categories. The Art competition registration follows on April 4th and 5th. PFAA is sponsoring the 29th Annual competition for students 10 to 18 years of age.

Elizabeth Bishop will sing the title role in this evening's performance of 'Iphigénie en Tauride,' replacing Susan Graham, who is ill. Bishop made her Met debut in 1994 and has sung several roles with the company including Venus in Tannhäuser, Mother Marie in Dialogues des Carmélites, and Fenena in Nabucco.

RUDDIGOR; or, THE WITCH'S CURSE, is one of the rarely produced Victorian Era comic operas from the Arthur Sullivan and W. S. Gilbert repertoire, last produced in the Puget Sound region by the Northwest Savoyards in 1997. Typical of Gilbert and Sullivan's absurdist work, it is filled with the hilarious adventures of villains turned heroes, heroes turned villains, helpless maidens, and professional bridesmaids. Steampunk is a science fiction themed movement that gained prominence in the late 1980s. Steampunk builds on the futuristic Victorian Era visions, driven by the works of Jules Verne and H.G. Wells and their steam powered contraptions and creates an alternative mechanistic reality utilizing fashion, culture, music and art.

The Redtwist season of fear continues with SHINING CITY, a terrifying tale where the demons are within, featuring Redtwist company member, and four-time Jeff-nominee, Brian Parry. Four more performances have been added to the scheduled run, extending the dates to March 6, 2011.

Civic Theatre of Allentown will present a free reading of Lanford Wilson's Pulitzer Prize winning play, TALLEY'S FOLLY, Saturday, February 26 at 2 pm on the stage at Civic's 19th Street Theatre, 527 N. 19th Street in Allentown. TALLEY'S FOLLY is the second in Lanford Wilson's acclaimed trilogy that includes FIFTH OF JULY. FIFTH is currently enjoying a full production at Civic Theatre. The production of FIFTH opens on Thursday, February 24 and runs through March 5.

The English Theatre of Hamburg presents ROSE'S DILEMMA, a comedy by Neil Simon, directed by Robert Rumpf. Auditions run from 14 to 24 March, 2011 in London. Rehearsals being 11 April to 1 May, 2011, in Hamburg. Opening date is 5 May for eight performances a week for a maximum of 9 weeks.
