Franklin School for the Performing Arts (FSPA) presents its annual Spring Concert on Saturday, May 19 at 4:00 and 7:00 p.m. and on Sunday, May 20 at 1:00 and 4:00 p.m. at Franklin's Thomas D. Mercer Auditorium, 224 Oak Street. The four Spring Concert performances feature FSPA students in all levels and disciplines of dance and musical theater, as well as the FSPA Youth Choir, performing troupes, dance ensembles, Groovemasters percussion ensemble, Jazz Krewe, and the international touring ensemble Electric Youth.

FUSION Theatre Company, New Mexico's professional theatre company, has announced that playwright Eric Eberwein is one of the seven winners of FUSION's seventh annual short works festival, "The Seven". Huntington Beach resident Eberwein's work, "The Return Engagement", was chosen from a submission pool of 748 scripts from 43 states and nine countries. FUSION will produce the world-premiere of Mr. Eberwein's play June 7th-10th at The Cell Theatre in Albuquerque, NM. "The Seven" is the theatrical tentpole event of the Savor Albuquerque Arts Festival.

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra has announced Concertmaster David Coucheron is the new recipient of The Mabel Dorn Reeder Honorary Chair. The chair, which was first announced in January 2011, was established with a $1.85 million endowment gift from the Mabel Dorn Reeder Foundation. Mr. Coucheron was awarded The Mabel Dorn Reeder Honorary Chair at the Orchestra's annual meeting on Monday, May 14, 2012.
