Netflix has optioned the rights to The New York Times bestseller Shoe Dog, written by Phil Knight.  Five-time Academy Award nominated producer Frank Marshall will produce the film alongside Knight.  Golden Globe and Emmy Award winners Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski (Dolemite Is My Name!, Ed Wood, The People vs. Larry Flynt, The People v. Freestyle Digital Media, the digital film distribution division of Byron Allen's Entertainment Studios, has acquired North American digital rights for REACH, the high-school drama about bullying from the perspective of the bully, the bullied, and the bystanders. REACH will debut on VOD and will be available to rent and own on digital HD across North American cable, internet, and satellite platforms through Freestyle Digital Media on October 19, 2018. Christian Meoli's Voltaire Media will theatrically release REACH in 10 major markets, day and date, including his Los Angeles theatre Arena Cinelounge, in Hollywood.

RLJE Films, a brand of RLJ Entertainment (NASDAQ: RLJE), has acquired all U.S. rights to the drama Galveston, which premiered at this year's SXSW Film Festival and has just been announced as part of the Toronto International Film Festival in September. Based on the novel “Galveston” by “True Detective” creator Nic Pizzolatto, the film was directed by Mélanie Laurent (Breathe), written by Jim Hammett and stars Ben Foster (Hell or High Water), Elle Fanning (The Beguiled), Lili Reinhart (“Riverdale”), and Beau Bridges (“Homeland”). Tyler Davidson (Take Shelter) produced the film, with his company Low Spark Films providing sole financing and production services. RLJE Films plans to release Galveston in theaters this Fall.

SHOWTIME has renewed its Golden Globe® Award winning drama series THE AFFAIRfor a fifth and final season. Season four of the series is currently airing on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT, with the finale airing onAugust 19.
