It was a storybook night of your favorite fairy tales as more than 200 of New York's sexiest dancers brought BROADWAY BARES XXII: HAPPY ENDINGS to life for two performances (9:30 PM and midnight) on Sunday, June 17. BROADWAY BARES XXII: HAPPY ENDINGS, which is produced by and benefits Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS was held at Roseland Ballroom (239 West 52nd Street, NYC). Salgado Productions just presented the first staged reading of Carlos Mendoza's 'Valencia' musical at the Puerto Rican Traveling Theater as part of the 2013 Playwrights Unit Festival of Readings and Insight Series. Director/Choreographer Luis Salgado directed the reading as well as produce the show as it evolves. Broadway's In The Heights cast members Blanca Camacho, Doreen Montalvo and Ruben Flores are part of the cast that bring life to the very human characters of this compelling story of a loving elderly home, Valencia. THE RASCALS: ONCE UPON A DREAM, which opened last night on Broadway, is directed by Steven Van Zandt and Marc Brickman. With music byFelix Cavaliere and Eddie Brigati, The Rascals: Once Upon a Dream has stage, video and lighting design by Brickman and has music production and is written by legendary guitarist Van Zandt. Performances begin Monday, April 15th atBroadway's Richard Rodgers Theatre (226 West 46th Street), and will play through Sunday, May 5th. Point Foundation (Point), the nation's largest scholarship-granting organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) students of merit, honored Nigel Barker and The Estee Lauder Companies Inc. last night, April 15. Yesterday March 26th, Tim Federle, author of Better Nate Than Ever, interviewed the 19 year old author, Henry Hodges, who wrote 'How To Act Like a Kid,' at the Drama Book Shop. The new American musical Hands on a Hardbody just celebrated opening night last night, March 21, at Broadway's Brooks AtkinsonTheatre (256 West 47th Street). The cast and creative team gathered at the Roseland Ballroom with their real-life counterparts from the documentary on which the musical is based. Recently married couple Seth Rudetsky and James Wesley will premiere four original plays in rep this March. 'Midtown March Medley,' as the series is called, will feature a comedy musical act, a two-hander, a caper and a family drama. There's plenty of classical music, comedy, incest, strokes and murder. Giving audiences an unbridled and candid look behind the scenes of the Broadway curtain, NCM(R) Fathom Events, Overnight Musicals and The Broadway League just presented 'One Night Stand: Creating a Play in a Day,' a unique one-night event broadcast to movie theaters nationwide last night, Jan. 30. This fast-paced, hilarious and entertaining film follows some of New York's top actors, including Cheyenne Jackson (30 Rock, Glee), Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Modern Family) and Rachel Dratch (Saturday Night Live), as well as teams of writers, composers and directors as they are given 24 hours to write, cast, compose, rehearse and perform four short musicals. At the end of the 24 hours, the musicals make their opening, and closing, night at New York City's Gramercy Theatre. The event will also present exclusive behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with the stars of 'One Night Stand' as they share intimate stories of life on Broadway.
