Five Boston Theatres Re-Imagine HAMLET, 11/14November 12, 2011As part of Double, Double, Toil and Trouble, imaginary beasts and Whistler in the Dark's month-long exploration of Shakespeare's works, the two companies are throwing open their theatre doors to five local groups for a special, one-night only event that explodes the Bard's most celebrated tragedy, Hamlet. Each group has been randomly assigned an act from the great tragedy and asked to create a 15- minute response piece to it. The only rule? No performing the act as written.

The event, held at Milk Studios, was hosted by Robert Downey Jr. and featured performances put together by renowned Hollywood actors, actresses, writers and directors who have been touched by the generosity the MPTF has been able to inspire within the industry. Hollywood's best and brightest were asked to support the organization's commitment to the entertainment industry and get involved.

New Line Theatre Announces Casting for Regional Premiere of CRY BABYNovember 6, 2011New Line Theatre, 'the Bad Boy of Musical Theatre,' will continue its 21st season of rock theatre March 1-24, 2012 with the American regional premiere of the Broadway rock musical CRY-BABY, which The Wall Street Journal called 'the funniest new musical since Avenue Q.' The stage musical is based on the cult classic John Waters film starring Johnny Depp. The original creative team is reworking and re-orchestrating the show for New Line, to make it a smaller, more intimate musical for this first production since Broadway.
