Roberto Abbado Returns to Conduct the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, 2/11-2/13 & 2/18-2/20February 11, 2010Guest Conductor Roberto Abbado returns to lead the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra in two weeks of programming. The first program, February 11-13, 2010 at 8:00 p.m., features the Atlanta Premiere of two Mozart Church Sonatas for Organ, the Coronation Mass, and Beethoven's Symphony No. 1. The second program, February 18-20, 2010 at 8:00 p.m., features Prokofiev's Violin Concerto No. 1with guest soloist Leila Josefowicz, and Schubert's Symphony No. 9. Both concerts are at Atlanta Symphony Hall at the Woodruff Arts Center.
Conductor Mei-Ann Chen Leads the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, 2/25-2/27February 11, 2010Guest Conductor Mei-Ann Chen will lead the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra in Rachmaninov's Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, with guest pianist Jon Kimura Parker, Hindemith's Symphonic Metamorphosis on Themes of Carl Maria von Weber, and Dvo?ák's Symphony No. 8. The concert will be February 25-27, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. at Atlanta Symphony Hall at the Woodruff Arts Center.

Gaines Replaces Stoke Mitchell in Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra Concert, 2/19-2/21February 11, 2010From February 19-21 PHANTOM OF THE OPERA star Davis Gaines will perform with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra for three concerts. Gaines will be replacing the Tony Award Winning Brian Stoke Mitchell, 'whose scheduled performances have been cancelled due to illness,' according to the Fort Worth Symphony website.
