Berkeley Rep & Guthrie Take TINY KUSHNER to London, 9/1-9/25April 15, 2010Today, Berkeley Repertory Theatre and the Guthrie Theatre announced that their production of TINY KUSHNER is headed for London. A series of short scripts by legendary playwright Tony Kushner, TINY KUSHNER debuted at the Guthrie in May 2009 and played to acclaim at Berkeley Rep last fall. Staged by Berkeley Rep's artistic director, Tony Taccone, the production will transfer to London's Tricycle Theatre with its original cast and design team intact. The show runs from September 1 to September 25.
Hayley Atwell Joins Evans and Stan in 'Captain America' FilmApril 15, 2010Joining the previously announced Chris Evans and Sebastian Stan in the upcoming ‘Captain America' film will be Hayley Atwell, set to play Peggy Carter. The film, based on the Marvel comic book superhero, will be directed by Joe Johnston.
Elaine Stritch Brings 'Singin' Sondheim' to Cafe Carlyle, 4/20 - 4/29April 14, 2010Tony Award winner Elaine Stritch will perform her concert, 'Singin' Sondheim...One Song at a Time' at the Cafe Carlyle from April 20 - April 29, 2010. Stritch will additionally perform the show as part of Hartford Stage's 2010 SummerStage series from June 17 - 20, 2010, as BroadwayWorld previously reported. Stritch will be joined in Hartford by Chita Rivera and Ben Vereen, who will also be performing solo concerts in Hartford on June 22-27 and July 6-11, respectively.

National Theatre Features Stephens, Amuka-Bird & Harewood in 2010 ProductionsApril 14, 2010The National Theatre has announced casting for its upcoming productions, starting with Moira Buffini's WELCOME TO THEBES which will run starting June 15. Nikki Amuka-Bird and David Harewood will star in the World Premiere of the play, which tells the Greek myth of the first democratically elected president of Thebes in a modernized way. Next to breathe a sigh of relief were Jake and Chelsie! Surprising, considering that Jake didn't receive a very good review from the judges, and was in the bottom two last week, but I'm happy he'll be sticking around. My fingers are crossed that at some point, he'll dance to "On the Wings of Love."
