Philly Improv Festival Announces Sixth Annual Line-Up; Kicks Off New Month of Comedy September 26, 2010The three of the top forces in the local comedy scene have formed the Philadelphia Comedy Collective, and are set to present Comedy Month from November 1-21 at the Philadelphia Shakespeare Theatre, 2111 Sansom Street. This event marks the largest collection of comedy performances in the city outside of the annual Philly Fringe. The month will kick-off with the sixth annual Philadelphia Improv Festival. The festival runs from November 2-6 with multiple shows nightly. The festival is also hosting two special headliner shows Friday, November 5 at the Ethical Society, 1906 Rittenhouse Square.

Young wealthy Mrs. Manningham thinks she is losing her mind until a police detective appears and informs her that her new husband is actually a murderer who is trying to drive her insane so he can take over her estate. Note from the director: The director is looking for skillful actors that can play these melodramatic roles with complete truthfulness and conviction. Please note that the play was made into a classic movie, Gaslight, starring Ingrid Bergman in 1944, which is also widely available.

Film and Television Industry Expected to Boost Irish Economy by €200 Million This YearSeptember 26, 2010Mary Hanafin TD, Minister for Tourism, Culture and Sport visited the set of the feature film ‘Neverland' currently in production in Ireland. ‘Neverland' is one of many film and TV productions filming in Ireland this year which will be exported to audiences around the globe. It is estimated that, despite the global financial downturn, the entire film and television industry will contribute an estimated €200 million to the Irish economy in 2010 in terms of spend on local goods, employment and services.

The productions will be performed in rotating repertory September 24 - October 31, 2010. The Fall Repertory features GLTF's resident artistic company of actors performing two alternating plays on the same stage over six weeks. Risa Brainin will direct Othello and Sari Ketter will direct An Ideal Husband.
