Baltimore Playwrights Festival Presents Reading of MARATHON, 3/12February 26, 2011The Baltimore Playwrights Festival (www.baltplayfest.com) announces our seventh public reading 'Marathon' of the 30th season on 12 March at the Audrey Herman Spotlighters Theatre, 817 St. Paul Street, Baltimore, MD 21202. Beginning at 11:30 a.m. plays to be read are: Veteran's Day, by Judith Glass Collins, followed by inconstancy, by Bob Barr, at 1:00 p.m., and Familiar Strangers, by Margy Kahn at 3:00 p.m. After each reading there will be a discussion of the script with the playwright, director and actors. The event is free, and the general public is encouraged to attend.
2011 DIRECTORS LAB WEST Dates Set and Applications AvailableFebruary 26, 2011The Directors Lab West Steering Committee has announced the dates for its 12th annual event. The 2011 Lab will take place June 11 - 18 in residence at The Pasadena Playhouse. This year's dates coincide with several other events bringing national attention to the L.A. theatre scene, including the Theatre Communications Group (TCG) annual conference. This will be an exciting time to explore current issues and perspectives in both the local and national theatre communities.

While being interrogated, he 'accidentally' falls out of a fourth floor window. Based on this true event which marked the beginning of a decade of state-sponsored terror, Nobel Award-winner Fo's play is a hilariously scathing satire that uses brutally funny violence and tragic wit to shine a light on the terrifying lengths governments will go to preserve their grip on power.
