Only 3 shows left for SEX & WAR: Come meet the the playwright Bretton B. Holmes this Thursday night. The final three shows take place this Thursday, Friday, Saturday at 8PM: Two One Act comedies that explore the modern nature of dating, cheating, proposals, and the perpetual war of the sexes.

After last year's overwhelming response to OUR AMERICAN COUSIN, Independent Shakespeare Co is remounting it as part of the 2011 Salon Series. Written in 1858 by English playwright Tom Taylor, OUR AMERICAN COUSIN tells the tale of a down-to earth Yankee who arrives in England as heir to a baronial estate, and encounters an eccentric extended family, including the hilarious nit-wit, Lord Dundreary (played by last season's Benedick, David Melville.)

The evening's performance, produced by Erin Fogarty and New York City Ballet principal dancer Daniel Ulbricht, will include three World Premiere pieces and will be performed by Daniel Ulbricht, Robert Fairchild, Amar Ramasar, Tyler Angle, Craig Hall, Wendy Whelan, Maria Kowroski, and Sterling Hyltin, as well as Matthew Rushing, Attila Csiki, Keigwin + Company, Alex Wong, and Martin Harvey to choreography by George Balanchine, Christopher Wheeldon, Benjamin Millepied, Larry Keigwin, Lar Lubovitch, Earl Mosley, Alex Wong and Robert Fairchild, and Daniel Ulbricht.

Burning Coal's WillPower! education outreach program has an exciting month in February, with residencies and workshops at five area schools, and the culmination of a long-term residency at Raleigh Charter High School with their production of INTO THE WOODS.

The Theater Company (TTC) is excited to present the third production in The Attic Jr. Series - WHO IS PHILLIP DeBLANKS? Produced by the Attic Ensemble of Jersey City (www.atticensemble.org), WHO IS PHILLIP DeBLANKS? was written and directed by Billy Mitchell and will be presented on Saturdays, February 19 & 26, 2011 at 3:30pm.

Marc Masterson, who for 11 years has served as the artistic leader of Actors Theatre of Louisville, will join South Coast Repertory in April as its new Artistic Director. Masterson will work alongside Managing Director Paula Tomei as Co-CEO of the theatre, while David Emmes and Martin Benson will become Founding Directors, working part-time to ensure a smooth leadership transition.

Dark Luna Productions presents the World Premiere AEA showcase of Pas-sage, a bitterly humorous and darkly funny new play about a couple whose success has left them with nothing to aspire to. The Emperor's Nightingale by Laura Amy Schlitz, directed by Moses Goldberg is based on the tale by Hans Christian Andersen, and this version takes place in China. The House Theatre of Chicago continues its season with STAR WITNESS, opening on March 27th and running through May 7th, 2011 at The Chopin Theatre. A small town mystery. A girl gone missing. A police scanner with no answers. A riff on The Wizard of Oz, Star Witness tells the story of Shelley, a nineteen-year-old waitress in the tiny town of Somerset, IL, hoping for something, anything to surprise her.

Lary Etten has accepted the position of Artistic Director for Sioux Empire Community Theatre. Lary is both a Founding Member of SECT and past President of the Board, he also recently directed our main stage productions of The Miracle Worker, Sound of Music and Chicago. Lary has always done a ton of work behind the scenes.

Marc Masterson today announced he will step down as Artistic Director after 11 seasons at the helm of the Tony-Award-Winning theatre, Actors Theatre of Louisville. Masterson will depart in fall 2011 to take up the role of Artistic Director at South Coast Repertory, Costa Mesa, California.

'Hound Dogs' centers on a fictional Nashville team whose players and general manager have plenty of personal issues to contend with off the field. It features a bartender (Bundy) who is seeking a singing career. Rob Mayes ('Cold Case') takes on the role of a rookie pitcher and her love interest, Variety reports.

The Manhattan Theatre Club world premiere production of GOOD PEOPLE, a new American play by Pulitzer Prize winner David Lindsay-Abaire directed by Tony Award winner Daniel Sullivan began performances February 8th in preparation for a Thursday, March 3 opening night at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street).
