After last year's overwhelming response to OUR AMERICAN COUSIN, Independent Shakespeare Co is remounting it as part of the 2011 Salon Series. Written in 1858 by English playwright Tom Taylor, OUR AMERICAN COUSIN tells the tale of a down-to earth Yankee who arrives in England as heir to a baronial estate, and encounters an eccentric extended family, including the hilarious nit-wit, Lord Dundreary (played by last season's Benedick, David Melville.)

SCR Names Marc Masterson as New Artistic Director

Marc Masterson, who for 11 years has served as the artistic leader of Actors Theatre of Louisville, will join South Coast Repertory in April as its new Artistic Director. Masterson will work alongside Managing Director Paula Tomei as Co-CEO of the theatre, while David Emmes and Martin Benson will become Founding Directors, working part-time to ensure a smooth leadership transition.

'Hound Dogs' centers on a fictional Nashville team whose players and general manager have plenty of personal issues to contend with off the field. It features a bartender (Bundy) who is seeking a singing career. Rob Mayes ('Cold Case') takes on the role of a rookie pitcher and her love interest, Variety reports.
