At Wesleyan University, IN THE HEIGHTS creator Lin-Manuel Miranda first brought his piece to the stage. As they say, the rest is history, and the production seen here would go on to change, evolve, and eventually collect four 2008 Tony Awards - including Best Musical and Best Original Score. Miranda himself says of the clip featured below: 'Nina Rosario's first song in my first draft of In The Heights, which I directed at Wesleyan University's '92 Theater. JERSEY BOYS Las Vegas, the story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, celebrated its third anniversary at The Palazzo Resort-Hotel-Casino on Thursday, May 12. The show will celebrate the anniversary with a one-of-a-kind JERSEY BOYS cake, which was presented on the stage following curtain call of the 7 p.m. performance.. Reports are surfacing that NBC has cancelled several of its programs, as was to be expected with the influx of new pilots being picked up by the network. ABC has also cancelled several of its programs. Those reportedly cancelled by NBC are 'The Event,' 'Law & Order: LA,' 'Outsourced,' while ABC has cancelled 'Brothers & Sisters,' 'Outsourced', 'Detroit 1-8-7,' 'Mr. Sunshine,' 'No Ordinary Family' and 'Off the Map.'

On 11 April 2011, over 100 stars from London's top West End musicals stunned Trafalgar Square in the centre of London with a spectacular Flash Mob in support of Love146, a non-profit organisation working to abolish child sex slavery and exploitation. Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater produces the first in-the-round staging of Ruined, the 2009 Pulitzer Prize winner for drama by Arena Stage Project Resident Lynn Nottage and directed by Resident Playwright Charles Randolph-Wright (Director of Arena Stage's Duke Ellington's Sophisticated Ladies).

Roger Daltrey plans to bring THE WHO'S TOMMY on tour this fall. The Who's Tommy is a rock musical by Pete Townshend and Des McAnuff based on The Who's 1969 double album rock opera Tommy, also by Pete Townshend, with additional material by John Entwistle and Sonny Boy Williamson.

What is the true meaning of justice? That is the question posed to audiences in A Time to Kill, the world premiere and first stage adaptation of a novel by John Grisham. By special arrangement with Daryl Roth and adapted for the stage by Tony Award winner Rupert Holmes (The Mystery of Edwin Drood), A Time to Kill brings the heat of the Deep South to Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater. Directed by Ethan McSweeny (Broadway's Gore Vidal's 'The Best Man'), A Time to Kill runs May 6-June 19, 2011 in the Kreeger Theater.

In addition to the previously reported 'Smash' NBC has picked up three other shows, according to Deadline.com. They are: Christina Applegate's 'Up All Night', Whitney Cummings' 'Whitney', and the American adaptation of 'Prime Suspect'. Universal Media Studios will be producing all four shows.

Variety reports that former American Theatre Wing president and current vice chairman Douglas Leeds has passed away. He was 63 years old.

Stage and film veterans Tim Robbins and Mark Ruffaloare set to play leading roles in the new film 'Thanks for Sharing'. Their roles haven't yet been specified, but the movie is 'a heartfelt comedy set in and around a 12-step program for recovering sex addicts in New York City. The bonds of friendship between these men help the overcome temptation and develop meaningful relationships for the first time in their lives.'

Ethan Hawke, last seen on Broadway in The Coast of Utopia, will appear in the upcoming remake of the 1990 film 'Total Recall'. Although details on his role haven't yet been released, it's said to be a cameo. Hawke joins a cast that contains Colin Farrell, Kate Beckinsale, and Jessica Biel; the movie is currently slated for an August 3, 2012 release.
