The one and only Cher is set to hit the road with the HERE WE GO AGAIN Tour beginning January 17, 2019 in Ft. Myers, FL.  A full list of dates follow this release. The upcoming tour was officially announced during Cher's appearance on Ellen today. 

On last night's episode of “The Tonight Show,” Paul McCartney and Jimmy surprise Beatles super fans riding an elevator in 30 Rockefeller Center, during what they think is an NBC Studios tour, and entertain them with comedic antics.

Two legendary performers teamed up to release an album ahead of their individual shows this fall at The Hanover Theatre and Conservatory for the Performing Arts. Tony Bennett and Diana Krall celebrate their shared love of the music of George and Ira Gershwin on their new collaborative album, "Love is Here to Stay," set for wide release on September 14. Michael Caine will star in the Czech historical biopic, Medieval, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The film is a biopic of 15th century Czech warrior Jan Zizka and reportedly the most expensive Czech movie of all time. 

Burt Reynolds fans on Long Island will hold a memorial tribute to the “Smokey and the Bandit” star by driving in a 100 Trans Am parade and drivers dressed in iconic “Bandit” costumes. This will be the largest Smokey and the Bandit tribute in the United States with thousands of fans attending.

Dr. Phil McGraw will begin a new interview podcast, Phil in the Blanks, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Dr. Phil McGraw has led a successful daily talk show has run for more than 16 seasons on CBS.

The comedy-drama, The Upside, staring Kevin Hart, Bryan Cranston, and Nicole Kidman will get a January 11th release date, according to Variety. 

Rebecca Ferguson is in talks to co-star alongside Timothee Chalamet in the reboot of DUNE, according to Variety.

Gillian Jacobs is set to star in LARRY, Amblin's horror film, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

As a part of Disney's new streaming service, Disney has announced plans for its High School Musical TV series, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Disney's unnamed subscription service is expected to launch in late 2019. 

Netflix has announced that they have acquired the global rights to director Theo Love's documentary feature, The Legend of Cocaine Island. The film, previously titled White Tide: The Legend of Culebra, premiered at the 2018 Tribeca Film Festival where it was enthusiastically embraced by audiences and critics who referred to the film as one of the most compulsively watchable documentaries in years.

Silver State Film Festival is an event organized to celebrate independent films and filmmakers from all parts of the world, highlighting local and international filmmakers and promoting the entertainment industry as a whole. The maiden edition of the event is scheduled to be held at the Orleans Hotel and Casino from September 6 to 9 with events starting on the 5th. Skydance Media in partnership with ZAG today announced that it has secured the live-action feature film and television rights to the global animated phenomenon Miraculous® - Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir. Under the deal, Skydance plans to develop and produce the first-ever live-action adaptations based on the hit property with an anticipated release in 2020. The critically acclaimed, award-winning animated television series developed and produced by Jeremy Zag follows two heroes— Ladybug and Cat Noir—as they protect the city of Paris from super villains.

While remaining committed to celebrating a wide spectrum of movies, the Academy announced today that it will not present the new Oscars category at the upcoming 91st awards. The Academy recognized that implementing any new award nine months into the year creates challenges for films that have already been released.  The Board of Governors continues to be actively engaged in discussions, and will examine and seek additional input regarding this category.
