Sundance Institute, the nonprofit organization dedicated to the discovery and development of independent artists and audiences, today announced the appointment of Michael Monroe as Chief Marketing Officer. Reporting to Institute CEO Keri Putnam, Monroe will be responsible for leading all aspects of brand, marketing, and communications strategy for the Institute, including the annual Sundance Film Festival. He begins on May 28, 2019 and will be based in the Institute's Los Angeles offices.

Warner Bros has announced that Christoper Nolan's next film, titled Tenet, has begun shooting, according to Deadline. The film, which is Nolan's first since 2017's Dunkirk, has also added Michael Caine, Dunkirk's Kenneth Branagh, Dimple Kapadia, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Clémence Poésy.

Today, The Trevor Project announced that talk show host, actress and producer Kelly Ripa and actor and producer Mark Consuelos will jointly be honored at the organization's TrevorLIVE New York gala with the Champions Award for their continued allyship and commitment to supporting The Trevor Project's mission to end suicide among LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Questioning) young people. The organization will also honor EY with the 20/20 Visionary Award for the company's work supporting LGBTQ inclusion around the world and creating a sense of belonging for all EY professionals. In addition, actress, comedian and writer Nicole Byer and actor, director and digital producer Eugene Lee Yang will co-host TrevorLIVE New York, the organization's annual star-studded signature fundraiser, on Monday, June 17 at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City. As previously announced, actress, musician, and style icon Cara Delevingne will be honored with the 2019 Hero Award.

Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (Dear Evan Hansen, The Greatest Showman) collaborated with Aladdin composer Alan Menken for a new song in the live-action remake of the hit 1992 Disney film. 'Speechless' is by Naomi Scott, who plays Princess Jasmine in Aladdin and is the only new song in the live-action film.

6131 Records is excited to announce the July 26th release of Dig, the new album from Richmond, VA by way of Wisconsin musician Luray, aka Shannon Carey. Dig was produced by her brother S. Carey and recorded with engineer Brian Joseph, whose own credits include Sufjan Stevens' Carrie & Lowell and Local Natives Sunlit Youth among others. Today, Luray shares the new singles “Professional Photos” and “Dig”. Both songs touch upon the album's genesis, born of the intense emotions that come with the end of a marriage. “I think there's a bit of truth in a photo and a bit of a lie,” Carey shares of “Professional Photos”. “I wrote this song about the image of happiness versus the real thing, and how it's sometimes myself I'm trying to convince.”

Take one-part classical composition, one-part guitar virtuosity and one-part cinematic drama and you may begin to get the concept behind SYMPHINITY. Due out this summer (exact date TBA), the SYMPHINITY album is the brainchild of Benny Goodman, who enlisted his twin brother and life-long songwriting collaborator Brian Goodman to help compose and create a sound that neither had never heard. Together the two compiled SYMPHINITY, a true collaboration between the Goodman brothers and a staggering list of talented players (*see artist quotes below). The project will launch with the first track, 'Singularity.'

Radian percussionist and composer Martin Brandlmayr has announced the release of his new album Vive Les Fantômes, out on June 14th. Maelyn Jarmon, a 26-year-old artist originally from Frisco, Texas, and currently living in New York, was crowned champion of "The Voice" tonight. Jarmon stood out all season for both her stunning vocals and ability to master her sound as an artist deaf in one ear. The pop alternative singer earned Coach John Legend his first "Voice" win on the four-time Emmy Award-winning musical competition series.

Disney's newest live-action remake is Aladdin, and ahead of its release this Friday, May 24, critics are sharing their thoughts on the adaptation of Disney's 1992 classic. The film is the exciting tale of the charming street rat Aladdin, the courageous and self-determined Princess Jasmine and the Genie who may be the key to their future. Directed by Guy Ritchie, 'Aladdin' is written by John August and Ritchie based on Disney's 'Aladdin.'
