It's the eighth year that the Memphis Music Hall of Fame honors the city's world-changing musical legends and, in doing so, The Hall announced eight new Inductees. The 2019 class, which will bring the current Memphis Music Hall of Fame roster to 84 members, was unveiled today at a press conference held at the iconic Lafayette's Music Room in Overton Square. A full house cheered as each member of the 2019 class was revealed, which included icons of rock, blues, soul, opera and jazz. This year, seven of the eight Inductees announced are living or include living musicians, with many still recording andor performing. 

Today, Liam Gallagher releases “The River,” the second track from his highly anticipated album Why Me? Why Not., set for release on September 20 via Warner Records. “The River” follows Gallagher's recently released single “Shockwave” from the forthcoming album.

Today, Mom + Pop Music has appointed Suzanna Slavin as Director of A&R. Suzanna began her career at Mom + Pop as an intern in 2013, eventually landing a full-time job in January 2014. Working alongside Mom + Pop Founder and Co-President, Michael Goldstone as his Executive AssistantA&R scout, she began to research and pitch viable new talent while building a presence in the music scene by attending shows and scouting new talent. As her career progressed, she began to do A&R coordination across the entire Mom + Pop roster. 

Lionsgate has released the trailer for MIDWAY, which centers on the Battle of Midway, a clash between the American fleet and the Imperial Japanese Navy which marked a pivotal turning point in the Pacific Theater during WWII.

Liam Gallagher has announced details of a major UK tour. The 11-date schedule includes a huge London show at the The O2 as well as what's sure to be a rapturously received homecoming set at Manchester Arena. Huge demand for tickets has been a hallmark of Liam's solo career. His debut UK arena tour saw all 100,000 tickets sell out within a morning, while all 40,000 tickets for his Finsbury Park show were snapped up within minutes.

Joana Vicente and Cameron Bailey, Co-Heads of TIFF, today announced the TIFF Tribute Gala, an annual awards fundraiser to support TIFF's year-round programmes and core mission to transform the way people see the world through film, and to celebrate the film industry's outstanding contributors. To recognize their leadership in creating a union between social impact and cinema, the TIFF Tribute Gala will introduce the new TIFF Impact Award. Participant Media will receive the inaugural award, which will be accepted by Founder and Chairman Jeff Skoll and CEO David Linde, marking an incredible 15 years of social action through storytelling. The TIFF Tribute Gala will also include the new Mary Pickford Award, honouring a female emerging talent in the industry. The inaugural award is given this year in celebration of United Artists' 100th anniversary. The recipient of this award, as well as additional honourees for the TIFF Tribute Gala, will be announced in the coming weeks.

This Friday (June 28), Jamaican reggae star Chronixx re-issues the deluxe edition of his seminal project, Dread & Terrible (via Soul CircleSeed Distribution) on its five-year anniversary. This re-release contains 11 tracks such as his now-certified classics 'Here Comes Trouble,' 'Capture Land,'and 'Spirulina.' Another standout is the previously unreleased 'Jah Is There,' produced by Chronixx. The song was intended for Dread & Terrible, but did not make it in time for production. The introspective track is accompanied by an animated lyric video by artist Tom Kariv.

Today, YouTube debuted the highly anticipated trailer for SEASON 4 of the longest running YouTube Original series, ESCAPE THE NIGHT on YouTube Premium. Created and hosted by Joey Graceffa, season 4 will feature Joey venturing into purgatory to rescue his friends, who have fallen in past eras, from the clutches of the Collector. However, Joey's rescue mission soon becomes a survival mission as the Collector's Museum of the Dead comes to life. Joining the all-star line-up for the 39th annual edition of PBS' A CAPITOL FOURTH, the country's longest-running live national July 4 TV tradition, are Broadway star and two-time Tony Award nominee Laura Osnes (BANDSTAND) plus Rock and Roll Hall of Famers and R&B legendsThe O'Jays.  Osnes, whose distinguished Broadway career includes starring roles in CINDERELLA, BONNIE & CLYDE and ANYTHING GOES, will perform a medley of patriotic songs accompanied by the U.S. Army Band "Pershing's Own."  The O'Jays, the legendary trio behind such classics as "I Love Music" and "Use Ta Be My Girl," will perform their Grammy Hall of Fame inducted Billboard Hot 100 # 1 hit song "Love Train."  This April, the O'Jays debuted "The Last Word," their first studio album in 15 years, and what the band has announced will be their final album.
