2019 marks the 30th anniversary of THE CULT's seminal album SONIC TEMPLE. To celebrate the anniversary, Beggars Arkive will release THE CULT: SONIC TEMPLE 30 on September 13. It will be released as adeluxe box set and a 5-CD set, plus the label will reissue a Sonic Temple on Double LP, which has been out of print for over 20 years. Jacob Tremblay and Awkwafina are in talks to join the cast of Disney's live-action remake ofThe Little Mermaid, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Disney Television Studios including Twentieth Century Fox Television, ABC Studios and Fox 21 Television Studios takes over the San Diego Comic-Con convention with stars and creators of 14 of its fan-favorite shows descending on the world-famous gathering next month. In addition to exclusive sneak peeks of its programs and panel discussions with the casts and creators, the studio will rotate producers and stars through the ABC and 20th Century Fox Television booths on the convention center floor for autograph signings and activities, including distribution of exclusive 2019 poster tubes, collectible mini-posters, premium giveaways and DVD sales. 

Lifetime has greenlit the new movie, NXIVM Cult: A Mother's Nightmare (working title), centering on the shocking true story of Catherine Oxenberg and her fight to save her daughter India from a dangerous sex cult. Andrea Roth (Rescue Me) takes on the role of Catherine while Peter Facinelli (Twilight) stars as Keith Raniere, the charming and charismatic secret organization leader with devious motives. Jasper Polish (Devil's Whisper) also stars as India and Sara Fletcher (Secret Girlfriend) portrays Keith's associate in the cult, actress Allison Mack.

Team Coco is bringing Conan O'Brien's unique brand of comedy back to San Diego with its successful daily pop-up comedy club Team Coco House open Thursday July 18th through Saturday July 20nd. Located at 401 G Street in the historic Gas Lamp District, Team Coco House will showcase a daily lineup of comics handpicked by Conan, podcasts, panels, trivia, giveaways, surprise appearances by friends of Team Coco, as well as O'Brien himself. CBS Television Studios will kick off San Diego Comic-Con® with exclusive world premiere screenings of its new series EVIL for CBS and NANCY DREW for The CW on Thursday, July 18. Disney Channel has established The Eunetta T. Boone Comedy Writer's Scholarship, it was announced today by Nancy Kanter, executive vice president, Content and Creative Strategy, Disney Channels Worldwide. In memory of the trailblazing writer and producer, the scholarship will provide dedicated funds to hire emerging and diverse writers who are pursuing careers in comedy writing for television.

Refugees and asylum seekers have been held captive under inhumane conditions on Manus Island in PNG for almost 6 years. The system is designed to be so brutal that asylum seekers are forced into despair and agree to go back home to whatever they have fled. Through his documentary Manus, Angus McDonald uses the first hand testimonials of many of the island's refugee residents, who share their harrowing stories. Manus has just won the Best Documentary Award at St Kilda Film Festival.
