Netflix has debuted the official trailer and premiere date for riveting new limited series Unbelievable, starring Toni Collette, Merritt Wever, and Kaitlyn Dever.

TIFF Co-Heads Cameron Bailey and Joana Vicente announced today that the World Premiere of Once Were Brothers: Robbie Robertson and The Band, Daniel Roher's touching tale of Robertson's young life and the creation of one of the most enduring groups in the history of popular music, The Band, will be the Opening Night Gala Presentation for the 44th Toronto International Film Festival® on Thursday, September 5, at Roy Thomson Hall. The premiere marks the first time a Canadian-made documentary opens the Toronto International Film Festival.

Actress, writer, filmmaker and comedian Noël Wells is excited to release the music video for her new single “Played for Keeps,” the opener to her highly anticipated, debut full-length album titledIt's So Nice! “Played for Keeps” was written in an afternoon while Wells happened to be Airbnbing actress Connie Britton's house while in Austin shooting a pilot, a fact that has very little to do with the song except relational awe. Today, singer/songwriter Christina Holmes has announced that she will join Donavon Frankenreiter on tour the remainder of the summer. Nominees for the 6th Annual Location Managers Guild International (LMGI) Awards were announced today by LMGI President Mike Fantasia. The awards honor the outstanding and creative visual contributions by location professionals and film commissions in film, television and commercials from around the globe. The LMGI Awards also recognize outstanding service by film commissions for their support 'above and beyond' during the production process. With the change in date of this year's LMGI Awards from April to September, the 6th Annual LMGI Awards timeline is unique in that there is an 18-month calendar of eligibility. Productions that were first released between January 1, 2018 and May 31, 2019 are eligible. Winners will be revealed during the formal ceremony on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at the Broad Theatre in Santa Monica.

The Jacob Burns Film Center (JBFC), a nonprofit film and media education center, has been awarded a $7,000 Catalyzing Creative AgingProgram seed grant from the National Guild for Community Arts Education. The JBFC was selected to be one of 10 nonprofit organizations across the country to receive this grant, which will support the launch of a new, innovative arts education programming for older adults.

SHOWTIME has made a series commitment to an untitled musical drama series executive produced by multiple Grammy winner Alicia Keys and the Oscar, Tony and Grammy winning team of Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (La La Land, Dear Evan Hansen, The Greatest Showman). Pasek and Paul will contribute music to the series. Kyle Jarrow (The SpongeBob Musical) will write and executive produce. Tony winner and Oscar nominated producer Marc Platt (Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert, The Band's Visit, La La Land), Emmy winner R.J. Emptyset, the innovative duo of James Ginzburg and Paul Purgas, have announced their new album Blossoms, out October 11th. Blossoms focuses on ideas of evolution and adaptation, bringing together Emptyset's body of exploratory sound production with emerging methods of machine learning through neural networks and raw audio synthesis. Showcasing the album's entirely unique sonic palette, the duo has released the track 'Petal,' a piece that blurs the lines between the organic and the mechanical with dense, bristling, shimmery textures.
