NBC has tied for #1 for the primetime ratings week of Aug. 5-11 in adults 18-49 and won the week in total viewers, according to “live plus same day” viewership figures from Nielsen Media Research.

Veteran programming executive Simran S. Sethi has been named to the newly created position of executive vice president, Development and Content Strategy for ABC Entertainment, it was announced today by Karey Burke, president of ABC Entertainment, to whom she will report.

 MTV today announced that Bad Bunny, Camila Cabello, J Balvin, Lil Nas X, Lizzo, Rosalía and Shawn Mendes will take the stage at the 2019 VMAs, airing live globally from Newark, N.J. on Monday, August 26 at 8:00 p.m.ET/PT. 

OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network announced today that award-winning screen legend Cicely Tyson has joined the cast of filmmaker Ava DuVernay's new anthology series “Cherish the Day,” her second series on the network since creating the acclaimed “Queen Sugar.”

Sony Entertainment has released the first trailer for Little Women. Writer-director Greta Gerwig (Lady Bird) has crafted a Little Women that draws on both the classic novel and the writings of Louisa May Alcott, and unfolds as the author's alter ego, Jo March, reflects back and forth on her fictional life.

Last Temptation is the new band of guitarist Peter Scheithauer (Killing Machine, Belladonna, Temple of Brutality) and vocalist Butcho Vukovic (Watcha, Showtime). They will release their self-titled debut via earMUSIC on September 27. It is available for pre-order here.

Thus far, the movie has reached 15 million Total Viewers including 3.7 million Kids 6-11 across 12 telecasts on Disney Channel. Against significant competition from popular recording artists, the soundtrack entered the Billboard Top 200 chart at #7, and also ranks #1 on Billboard's Soundtrack and #1 on Billboard's Children's charts for its debut week. On iTunes, the 'Descendants 3' soundtrack is currently ranked #3 after holding the #1 spot for its first five days.

During the week of Aug. 5, 2019, ABC's “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” ranked as the No. 1 late-night talk show among Adults 18-49 (413,000), topping NBC's “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” by 2% (403,000) and tying CBS' “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” (413,000) despite “Kimmel” airing a repeat telecast on Friday.

Salamander has released their debut album, 1993, originally recorded in 1993, through Bodan Kuma Records. Unmastered, lo-fi versions of songs from the album have been shared for years, so the band felt it was the right time to shine up these classic gems and release them commercially for the first time. One song in particular included on this album is 'Cherry Llama,' which received airplay on KROQ 'Locals Only' and Rodney Bingenheimer's show 'Little Steven's Underground Garage' on Sirius XM channel 23.

Lost American will return home for a special one-off show during this year's Americana Fest. Lost American is the name that native Nashville singer-songwriter Chris E. Kelley currently performs under with his band in Barcelona, Spain.The outfit includes keyboardist Shorn Keld (Orto Grut) and drummer Simon Mille (Big Summer, King of Prussia). Starting his music journey in Nashville in the eighties, Kelley returns to play a special gig on September 14th at Proper Sake (628 Ewing Avenue www.propersake.co).
