Just as election season is heating up in America, British folk trio The Young'uns are set to return to the U.S. and bring their unique brand of social commentary to venues in the Pacific Northwest following their August debut U.S. tour.  Named 'Best Group' at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards two years in a row (2015 and 2016), they introduced their trademark harmonies, honesty and humour to American audiences during a series of east coast shows that included their debut appearance at the annual Philadelphia Folk Festival.  Their tour continues with shows in Washington State and northwest Canada beginning October 24.

HGTV has raised the stakes for its female-led, super-charged home reno competition series Rock the Block, premiering Monday, Oct. 21, at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The grand prize winner of the competition still gets bragging rights and a street named after her, but now each weekly challenge winner will score a showcase episode of her own HGTV series immediately following the one hour airing of Rock the Block. Home renovation/design experts Leanne Ford (Restored by the Fords), Mina Starsiak Hawk (Good Bones), Jasmine Roth (Hidden Potential) and Alison Victoria (Windy City Rehab) will go head-to-head in an explosive showdown to max-out four identical properties and add the most property value to each home. Shondaland, founded by award-winning television producer and writer Shonda Rhimes, is taking storytelling to audio by partnering with iHeartMedia, the No. 1 commercial podcast publisher globally, to launch Shondaland Audio. The agreement includes a full slate of iHeartRadio Original Podcasts set to release over the next three years as part of the iHeartPodcast Network. The Athena Film Festival at Barnard College (AFF), a joint initiative of Barnard's Athena Center for Leadership Studies and the initiative Women and Hollywood, announced screenwriter Denise Meyers as its inaugural Alfred P. Sloan Athena List Development Grant winner. Meyers' Lucky 13 script was a 2016 Athena List finalist, and tells the incredible true story of the only all-female airbase in American history, powered by unforgettable women who came from all walks of life to play a significant role in the war effort, sacrificing everything to save the B-26 Marauder aircraft from the scrap heap before being unceremoniously disbanded to make room for male civilian pilots hoping to avoid the draft. As the winner of this grant, Meyers will receive $20,000 to help advance her script to the next stage of development. The Festival will host a reception and live script-reading on October 29 at Barnard College in New York City. 

Food Network and Cooking Channel deck the halls for the holidays with 70% more hours of premiere holiday programming than last year including two new series, eight specials, several returning fan-favorites and seasonal stunts, as well as recipe inspiration on the new Food Network Kitchen app. The seasonal lineup kicks off with the return of Holiday Baking Championship with host Jesse Palmer and tough love judges Nancy Fuller, Duff Goldman, and Lorraine Pascale premiering on Monday, November 4th at 9pm ET/PT, followed by a special episode of Holiday Baking Championship: Sweet Revenge at 10pm ET/PT where runners up from past seasons get a second chance to prove their holiday baking abilities. SHOWTIME has announced the development of a new untitled limited series based on the bestselling book Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber, written by Mike Isaac. Brian Koppelman and David Levien (BILLIONS) will executive produce and write the series, as part of their overall deal with SHOWTIME. Isaac will co-executive produce the project. The limited series will be produced by SHOWTIME. The announcement was made today by Gary Levine and Jana Winograde, Presidents of Entertainment, Showtime Networks Inc.
