SHOWTIME has announced two new documentaries profiling iconic rock bands New Order and Duran Duran. NEW ORDER: DECADES will premiere on Friday, December 27 at 7:30 p.m. ET/PT. Part concert, part documentary, NEW ORDER: DECADES follows the band's preparations in the re-staging of their acclaimed collaboration, So It Goes, with the artist Liam Gillick and the 12-piece synthesizer orchestra that captured the headlines during Manchester International Festival 2017.

NBC's Writers on the Verge welcomes eight new writers to its 2019-20 class: comedy writers Rishi Chitkara, Shirin Najafi and Min-Woo Park as well as drama writers Andi Delott, Maya Houston, Mitali Jahagirdar, Lira Kellerman and Shani Am. Moore. Chosen from an applicant pool of more than 2,300 submissions, the new class joins the long-tenured initiative for emerging writers of diverse backgrounds.

Legendary feminist punk band Bikini Kill recently regrouped for 10 thrilling performances in select cities NYC, LA and London + a special headlining Riot Fest appearance, marking their first full shows since 1997. These shows sold out quickly and the enthusiastic fan response encouraged the band to launch a more expansive run. Their recently announced 2020 international tour dates are selling out quickly and today, the band is thrilled to announce additional dates with stops at NYC's Prospect Park Bandshell, Red Rocks, Burger Boogaloo and a special second show in Olympia.

On December 6th, musician and producer Meg Toohey stepped into the spotlight to debut “Are You Gonna Be the One,” the first single off of her first album of original songs in 15 years. Titled Butch and set for release on January 10th, the album not only features Toohey stepping into her own as a solo artist; it also marks her move from rock into captivating country pop.

“The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” has averaged a 0.32 rating in adults 18-49 and 1.711 million viewers overall for the late-night ratings week of Dec. 2-6, according to “live plus same day” figures from Nielsen Media Research, to finish in a virtual three-way tie for the weekly lead in the 18-49 demo.

Netflix has released the trailer for its upcoming series Spinning Out. The series stars Kaya Scodelario, January Jones, Willow Shields, Evan Roderick, Amanda Zhou, Sarah Wright Olsen, and Svetlana Efremova.

During the week of Dec. 2, 2019, ABC's “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” ranked as the week's No. 1 late-night talk show outright in Adults 18-49, edging out CBS' “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” (427,000 vs. 424,000) and NBC's “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” (418,000). In addition, despite airing a repeat telecast on Friday (versus four original broadcasts for “Fallon”), “Kimmel” outdrew “Fallon” by 10% in Total Viewers (1.876 million vs. 1.713 million) to stand as the No. 2 talk show of the week. 

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have announced a run of 2020 North American tour dates, set to take place in between their unprecedented career-spanning marathon sets at The Greek Theatre in Berkeley, CA and Red Rocks in Morrison, CO. These new dates are set to begin April 19 at the Crystal Ballroom in Portland, OR and will end on May 2 at Franklin Music Hall in Philadelphia, PA just days before their two-night Red Rocks run. All dates will feature support from Leah Senior. The artist presale for these new dates begins on Wednesday, December 11 at 12pm EST, and they will go on sale to the general public on Friday, December 13 at 12pm EST. NBC has averaged a 1.3 rating in adults 18-49 and 5.8 million viewers overall for the primetime week of Dec. 2-8, according to “live plus same day” figures from Nielsen Media Research. That places NBC #2 for the week in adults 18-49 behind only Fox, which was boosted by high-rated football coverage on both Thursday and Saturday nights.

ABC News' “World News Tonight with David Muir” ranked as the evening's No. 1 newscast in Total Viewers (9.027 million) for the week of Dec. 2, 2019, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. “World News Tonight” outperformed “NBC Nightly News” (8.244 million) by 783,000, nearly quadrupling its lead week to week (+297%; vs 197,000) and more than doubling its advantage year to year (+165%; vs. 295,000). Further, “World News Tonight” has won all 11 weeks of the season and the last 54 weeks overall.

Acclaimed American rock band AGAINST ME! have just announced its spring 2020 U.S. tour dates. Touring with support from Stef Chura and kicking off on Wednesday, March 11, the run will begin at Gateway City Arts in Holyoke, MA and visit markets such as Portland, ME on March 12, Richmond, VA 0n March 19, Charlotte, NC on March 22, Orlando, FL on March 26, New Orleans, LA on March 29, Athens, GA on April 2, and culminate with an appearance at the Atlantic City Beer and Music Festival in Atlantic City, NJ on April 4.
