As the leader of the seminal Chicago band Green, Jeff Lescher unleashed a synthesis of the punk, pop, glam, soul and country music he was obsessed with growing up. Rising from the fertile scene in the 80s that included bands like Material Issue and Shoes, Green released a string of critically acclaimed albums that won praise from SPIN, Chicago Tribune and Village Voice. Author John Borack included them in his lauded book, “Shake Some Action: The Ultimate Guide to Power Pop”.

 HBO Max announced today that actress, activist and host Jameela Jamil will MC and judge Legendary, the 9-episode unscripted voguing competition series from Scout Productions. Heavy Pettin' first stirred into action when vocalist Hamie, guitarists Gordon Bonnar and Punky Mendoza, drummer Gary Moat and bassist Brian Waugh first burst out of Glasgow in 1981. They were vibrant, priapic, anthemic and focused. As they showed on a three-track demo, and on the subsequent debut single for independent label Neat ('Roll The Dice'__/'Love Xs Love'), they were more than mere Def Leppard slaves. In fact, the Pettin' had an international sound that owed something to AC/DC, UFO, Thin Lizzy and Foreigner, but also had its own raging momentum.

New Rise Records signees Social Animals have announced a North American tour with Beach Slang and The Aquadolls this Spring.
