A strong debut season for home reno series Hidden Potential has led HGTV to order an additional 17 half-hour episodes. The series, which attracted more than 13 million viewers during its freshman run, stars builder and designer Jasmine Roth as she enlivens generic suburban SoCal houses with creative floorplans, fun enhancements and personalized renovations. Production will begin in September and the new season is slated to premiere in 2019.

The non-profit Playing For Change Foundation's annual PFC Day on September 15 promises to be its biggest celebration of global talent to date. Venues in the U.K.'s Cannock, plus Regina, Canada, and Santa Fe, Argentina, as well as Brazil's Rio De Janeiro, are a few of the newest locales that already include Brazil's São Paulo and Curitiba, Ibiza, Spain, Diamante, Argentina, Los Angeles, California and Mexico City, Mexico. The roster recently was updated with more U.S. participants including New Orleans' famed Nola Brewery with confirmed performers including Grammy Award-winning blues legend Vasti Jackson, Tin Men featuring Washboard Chaz and Tom McDermott, and Six Springs Tavern in Richardson Texas where local bands will be featured from 1 PM to 1 AM. In addition to these marquis events, there will be smaller, grass roots events taking place supporting the Foundation's efforts.

From Thursday, September 20 through Sunday, September 23 BAMcinématek presents Kino Polska: New Polish Cinema, presented in partnership with the Polish Cultural Institute New York and co-programmed by Tomek Smolarski. Kino Polska features seven feature films, including three New York premieres, highlighting directors who are revitalizing contemporary Polish cinema. The series brings together the best new works by Poland's boundary-pushing women filmmakers.

The Morris Museum will launch its new Inside Cinema Film Series on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at 10:00AM in the Bickford Theatre. During this season, this film series will focus on film Noir, and will be hosted monthly by David Landau, a professor of film at Fairleigh Dickinson University.  For each screening there will be a discussion with David before the film to provide further insights.
