IFC Films has released the trailer for TEA WITH THE DAMES, which is opening in theaters on September 21st and on demand September 27th. 

Tuesday, August 28, NBC unveiled the first act of the upcoming supernatural thriller “Manifest” to coincide with the series' fictitious Montego Air Flight 828.  “Manifest” will premiere Monday, September 24 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on NBC. 

Honoring tomorrow's 30th anniversary of satirical news outlet The Onion, Nick Scown and Julie Seabaugh have released The Onion Issue, a short film focusing on the challenges staffers surmounted in helping America regain a sense of normalcy in the face of tragedy. The sample segment is culled from the pair's forthcoming 2021 documentary Too Soon: The Comedy of 9/11, which follows the sudden halt and gradual evolution of the comedy industry in the 20 years following the most earth-shattering public event in U.S. history.

PBS announced today, as part of its co-production partnership with the BBC, that a new three-part live event, AUTUMNWATCH - NEW ENGLAND, will air Wednesday-Thursday, October 17-18, 2018, at 8:00-9:00 p.m. ET and Friday, October 19, 2018 at 8:30-9:30 p.m. ET. 

NBC Sports Digital and Above Average's sports brand The Kicker, owned by Broadway Video, today announced the short-form original digital video series Draftsville will return for a second season ahead of NFL Kickoff 2018. The British actress Judi Dench will receive the prestigious Donostia Award at the 66th edition of the San Sebastian Festival next month. The Festival's highest honorary award will be presented on Tuesday, September 25th, prior to the screening of Trevor Nunn's Red Joan, in which Dench plays a woman whose tranquil life is suddenly disrupted when she's arrested by MI5 and accused of providing intelligence to Communist Russia.

Netflix, the world's leading internet entertainment service, announced today Historia de un Crimen, a new scripted crime anthology series that will tackle notorious controversial crimes that have rocked countries for decades, generated social turmoil and triggered charges of corruption and a search for justice.

Netflix has signed a multi-year overall deal with animation creator Alex Hirsch. Under the terms of the deal, Hirsch will exclusively develop new series and features for Netflix. Hirsch is the creator of the Annie and BAFTA award-winning series, Gravity Falls.

The Country Music Association has announced the final nominees for “The 52nd Annual CMA Awards,” as Chris Stapleton tops the list of finalists with five nominations. Producer and musician Dann Huff receives four nominations, the second most nominations this year, while nine artists garner three each—Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Dan + Shay, Florida Georgia Line, Chris Janson, Miranda Lambert, Midland, Thomas Rhett and Keith Urban.

Today, on behalf of the Board of Directors of TIFF, Jennifer Tory, Chair, announced the appointment of Joana Vicente as the new Executive Director & Co-Head of TIFF, effective November 1, 2018.  Vicente, who previously served as Executive Director of the Independent Filmmaker Project (IFP), joins Cameron Bailey, who was previously announced as the Artistic Director & Co-Head, effective October 1, 2018.
