Mitch Rowland has celebrated indie music retailers with the physical 7” vinyl release of two brand new tracks, “Carry On With Your Tea / Nothing Is True.” Now, he is releasing both of those tracks digitally. Lightning Bug has shared their third and final single “Lullaby for Love”, from their forthcoming album No Paradise, out next week. Jonathan Bailey, who will be playing the character of Fiyero in the two-part film adaptation of Wicked, has joined the third season of the Netflix series Heartstopper. He will be making a cameo appearance as Jack Maddox, an Instagram-famous classicist and celebrity crush of Charlie. Brian Tyree Henry, who was nominated for a Tony Award for his role in the revival of Lobby Hero, has joined the new musical film from Pharrell Williams and Michel Gondry. Henry joins the previously announced Kelvin Harrison Jr., Halle Bailey and recent Oscar-winner Da’Vine Joy Randolph. Few plot details about the upcoming film have been released, apart from its setting. It is reported to be set in Virginia Beach during the summer of 1977.

According to reports, Jennifer Aniston will be producing a reimagining of Dolly Parton's 9 to 5 for 20th Century Studios. Aniston will be producing through her production company Echo Films, alongside co-founder Kristin Hahn. The script for the reimagining is being written by Diablo Cody, who previously scripted Juno, Jennifer's Body and the recent horror comedy Lisa Frankenstein.

Pallbearer have released a second song from their highly-anticipated new album, Mind Burns Alive, with the arrival of the deeply moving Endless Place, complemented by a visually striking black-and-white companion video. Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Ralph Fiennes are all in talks to star in the 28 Years Later, which serves as a sequel to the 2002 Boyle horror flick. Boyle is returning to direct, which features a script by Alex Garland who also penned the original. At this time, it is unknown who the three actors will play in the film, which is said to be the first of a new trilogy.

Proof of the magic within UK underground club culture, Eliza Rose returns with the release of her 4-track EP Business As Usual via Rosebud Recordings/One House. Vancouver-based rising pop artist Xana reflects on her past mistakes with 'Monster,' a brutally honest exploration of the artist's worst decisions and selfish behavior, out everywhere now. Writer Jordan Allen-Dutton has just joined the upcoming Richard Simmons biopic, according to reports. Allen-Dutton's previous credits include the The Bomb-itty of Errors, a hip-hop add-rap-tation of Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors, which became a smash Off-Broadway hit. The film will star Pauly Shore as the fitness guru, previously playing Simmons in a short film titled The Court Jester.

On Your Feet, the Broadway musical about the lives of Gloria and Emilio Estefan, will soon be coming to the screen. A film adaptation of the musical is in the works from writer/director Lissette Feliciano, who made her feature debut in 2021 with the indie drama Women Is Losers.

Armenian-American artist KÁRYYN has shared her new single “ODAR” alongside a self-directed tapestry of Armenian artifact, language and performance. “ODAR”, meaning other in Armenian, is KÁRYYN’s interpretation of the folk song “Odaroutioun”, a song passed down through generations, often sung at gatherings in her grandparents’ house in Aleppo, Syria. Listen to the song now!

San Francisco indie rock trio French Cassettes have released their latest single, “Megabus”, with a video from Vanessa Pla. The track is featured on the band’s upcoming third album, Benzene, due to arrive June 7 via Tender Loving Empire. French Cassettes were announced as part of this year’s Outside Lands festival line up, taking place August 9-11, in Golden Gate Park, along with a run of U.S. dates west of the Mississippi [all dates below].
