The show composed of all ABBA music, follows Sophie Sheridan as she searches for her biological father. After stumbling upon her mother's diary, she discovers there are three possible men. Sophie comes up with the idea to invite all three to her wedding and there she will discover which one is her father. I, personally, was entranced by the music and could not believe how a story can revolve around the music rather than the music revolve around the story. The audience was thrilled to hear these classic songs come to life on stage!

Disney's The Little Mermaid has begun performances at the Alhambra Theatre in Dining in Jacksonville. Audiences will be transported to the bottom of the ocean as they follow Ariel's story to becoming human, accompanied by twists, turns, and excitement. Audience members of all ages will be completely captivated by the performance.
BWW Review: AIN'T MISBEHAVIN' at Alhambra Theatre And DiningMay 17, 2019Ain't Misbehavin' is 'Spreading Rhythm Around' Jacksonville. The Tony Award-Winning Musical honoring Fats Wallers' and the heyday of the Harlem jazz scene is currently showing at Alhambra. This musical stands out from many other because it does not have a plot to follow but is a combination of much of Wallers' music in one show. I personally did not know much of the music and the time period it was produced, and I believe it would have affected my experience greatly. If this is a time period and genre you are interested in, you will greatly enjoy the show!
BWW Review: KINKY BOOTS at Times Union Performing Arts CenterMay 16, 2019Kinky Boots returned to Jacksonville for one night only, and audiences went crazy for it! It seemed half of Jacksonville showed up for the performance and were in love with the Tony-Award Winning musical. The show follows the story of a son who inherits a shoe factory and is not passionate about working in shoes. However, when a drag queen crosses his path, he has the idea to make a specific shoe product for drag queens. With music by Cyndi Lauper and book by Harvey Fierstein, all audiences are bound to be entertained.
BWW Review: SCHOOL OF ROCK at Times Union Performing Arts CenterApril 18, 2019Class is in session at the School of Rock and they're teaching Jacksonville all about rock-n-roll! The musical featuring music from Tony Award winner Andrew Lloyd Webber, is based on the 2003 movie School of Rock. The musical follows a man, Dewey Finn (Merritt David Janes), as he impersonates his best friend Ned Schneebly as a substitute teacher at Horace Green. When Dewey realizes he is in way over his head, he hears his students playing classical music. He decides he will teach them about rock-n-roll, and they will compete in 'The Battle of the Bands.' The musical displays amazing music, a great story, and life lessons for everyone to take away.

The cast is SUPREMELY talented and an absolute joy to watch.

The musical, based on Adrienne Shelley's movie of the same name, follows Jenna, a waitress at a small diner who is stuck in a loveless marriage. Jenna finds herself pregnant and is convinced it is time to chase her own dreams and build a better life for her and her unborn child. First, she must save enough money waitressing at the diner. Jenna meets her doctor, Dr. Pomatter, and things become very complicated. Waitress is filled with laughter, emotion, heartbreak, and pies!
BWW Review: OLIVER! at The Island TheatreMarch 13, 2019Oliver! is performing now through March 17 at The Island Theatre in Fleming Island. The musical portrays the story written by Charles Dickens. The audience follows an orphan boy, Oliver Twist, in London who is bounced from orphanages to thieves, to relatives he did not know existed. Oliver gets into trouble here and there just trying to survive the streets of London. The musical was greatly entertaining, and the cast is quite talented.

Mid-Life!: The Crisis Musical has opened at the Alhambra Theatre and Dining and has audiences crying laughing. The musical has three men and three women playing various characters dealing with variety of mid-life situations, such as menopause, side effects from various medications, forgetfulness, and so much more. The six-membered cast is hilarious, entertaining, and oh so talented!
BWW Review: MONTY PYTHON'S SPAMALOT at Times Union Performing Arts CenterFebruary 12, 2019Monty Python fans gathered in Jacksonville Monday night for Monty Python's Spamalot. Laughter erupted through the Moran Theatre at The Times Union Center for the Performing Arts as fans watched their favorite characters performing their favorite lines and jokes based on the movie Monty Python and the Holy Grail. The show follows King Arthur and the Knights of the Round table on their voyage to find the Holy Grail. Accompanied by a great and comedic score, the show was greatly entertaining to all audience members, even those who were not familiar with Monty Python. It was a smash!

The story of an immigrant Italian woman, Francesca, who moves to Iowa and becomes a typical farm wife. Her world is turned upside down when a National Geographic photographer, Robert Kincaid, comes to her door to ask for directions. The topsy-turvy tale of romance, family, and heartache is an incredibly entertaining piece.
BWW Review: LES MISERABLES at Times Union Performing Arts CenterJanuary 23, 2019The Les Miserables National Tour has made its stop in Jacksonville and has audiences cheering. Les Miz, as it is known to many theatre goers, is based on Victor Hugo's novel of the same name. The story is set in France between 1815 and 1832, features iconic characters such as Jean Valjean, Javert, Fantine, Eponine, Cosette, and so many more. Audiences are able to follow their stories through a show that is sung COMPLETELY through and feel all the emotions, triumphs, and excitement that is in front of them. I cannot say enough good things about Les Miserables, but let's try!

The musical that tells the story of a bunch of dreamers on the Sunset strip, that are trying to make it big in the rock-n-roll world. Following the adventures of love, heartbreak, defeat, stardom, and the fight to keep rock-n-roll alive as a father-son team wants to destroy the Boulevard and turn it into multiple shopping centers. The musical showcases hit songs from the late 80's such as "Don't Stop Believin'", "Here I Go Again", "Hit Me with Your Best Shot", and so many more! Rock of Ages captivated every single audience member and connected us all through iconic songs and entertaining stories!

The Tony nominated show tells the story of the drafting of the Declaration of Independence between May and July of 1776. Anyone who has taken a history class will recognize the iconic characters, such as John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, and many more. It is a joy to watch the story so many know appear in front of their eyes by the incredible cast.
