As has been widely reported, Artist David Ilan has been in the process of creating a Michael Jackson tribute painting using the pointillism style in which the paiting is comprised of dots. For the tribute, each dot represents a different influential person. At a special recognition ceremony yesterday, June 21, Ilan added a 'dot' in honor of Dr. Maya Angelou at Angelou's home in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. David Ilan is attempting to get a million people, each being represented by a dot, to make up the Michael Jackson tribute portrait. Gordon Edward, the legendary founder, leader and bass player of 'Stuff', will perform at the Creole Restaurant. Gordon has played with many of the world's most notable artists from Aretha Franklin, John Lennon, Joe Cocker, to Van McCoy. The Seattle Theatre Group (STG) announced their concerts that will go on sale this week.
